US Vice President Mike Pence has finally declared the US strategic patience with North Korea is over. The US backed by South Korea, and other US allies could launch military aggression against North Korea should it continue with its provocative missiles launches. Speaking at the Korean Demilitarized Zone, Vice President Mike Pence reiterated that the US would abandon the failed policy of strategic patience but instead redoubled its efforts to bring diplomatic and economic pressure on North.

The US wants China to engage North Korea

The new development comes in the wake of renewed efforts by the United States to persuade China to engage in direct talks with North Korea in a bid to urge the junta regime to suspend its nuclear program.

Speaking to CNBC on Monday, US Army Colonel Jack Jacobs said the US was getting closer to a real crisis with Pyongyang.

The military prowess of North Korea has not been ascertained but should not be underestimated. This is apparently true if the recent military parade and show of sophisticated ammunition is anything to be believed. Kim Jong-un is a bad boy that could instantly trigger a thermal nuclear war by a simple provocation from the US. The energized US military operations in collaboration with South Korea amid intensified war of words between Washington and Pyongyang could spark the worst atomic war in modern time.

Bell sound for war?

Washington seems prepared for war. The only problem at the moment is the deliberate lack of will to ascertain the military capability of North Korea.

Should President Trump push on with his mission to force Kim Jong-un to stop developing nuclear weapons, the world could witness another unnecessary war whose repercussions could be far reaching than World War II.

The United Nations General Secretary should lead a diplomatic mission that would force the junta regime to surrender or at least allow the international atomic energy agency access to its nuclear development plans.

The mission would help establish whether the allegations leveled on the secretive state are true if are mere fabrication aimed at blackmailing North Korea.

Military parade and missile launch

The global community should not downplay last week military parade in North Korean and the subsequent failure of the rocket launch. It may just turn to be proof North Korea can launch more powerful missiles that could hit distance lands and trigger a thermal nuclear war. Russia and China, the two great trade partners of North Korea, should be allowed to lead a UN-backed delegation that would help negotiate a peaceful resolution to the North Korea nuclear crisis.
