With February 2017 rolling around, there's a new Album bound to be out there for anybody. Rap seems to lead the charge this month, with some of the biggest names of now and before coming out with new records, while country music will see the resurgence of one of the most popular bands of this generation. These are the top album releases for this month.
4. 'DROGAS Light' - Lupe Fiasco
This album has been through the washer. First it was cancelled. Then, Lupe Fiasco declared he would retire because people thought his lyrics were anti-Semitic. Suddenly, here comes the album.
There's no telling what the caliber of it will be, but Lupe Fiasco has never stood down from a political message before, so he certainly won't start now. The record will be released on February 10, 2017.
3. 'Plata O Plomo' - Fat Joe and Remy Ma
Both of these rappers have been out of the game for some time now, so when they released the single "All the Way Up," it was to the surprise of virtually everybody. Now, they're coming out with an entire album together. Here's to hoping the comeback is successful. The record will be released on February 17, 2017.
2. 'The Breaker' - Little Big Town
Little Big Town became some of the biggest stars in country music with their song "Girl Crush." They've been relatively quiet since then, but their new single "Better Man" (written by Taylor Swift) seems to call to mind their harmonious ways that bring country to the mainstream.
Their album may do the same when it is released on February 24, 2017.
1. 'I Decided' - Big Sean
This album was released on Friday, already to critical-acclaim and controversy due to a song featuring Eminem that goes in a rather political direction. Still, Big Sean has worked hard to develop a reputation as one of the best rappers in the game and this record should continue that path. The February 3, 2017 release makes it one of the most-hyped rap albums of the year so far; a further analysis will determine if it is worthy of the early praise it has been getting.
