Texas Senator, Ted Cruz, has been once again become the highlight of Twitter. but this time, it's about his Twitter likes. A Cruz staff member allegedly accidentally "liked" a two-minute, two-second from a prominent porn Twitter account on a page from the senator's account.

Damage Control

Cruz's staff realized moments later the tweet was accidentally liked, except by that time the Internet had blown up to make fun of the politician. Cruz had said in a statement that a number of people have access to his account and that this was not purposely done.

His communications director, Catherine Fraizer, tweeted out what she thought would lighten the blow to Cruz.

However, it seems to have only made it worse for Cruz by adding fuel to the fire. Cruz has not yet addressed the incident via Twitter. Jimmy Kimmel also decided to take a stab at Cruz, making sure Twitter remembered his proposal to ban sex toys in the state of Texas and his opinions on sex in general.

It seems that Twitter has not been treating politicians kindly, with President Trump's covfefe tweet still fresh in the minds of Americans.

Cruz has tried to make light of the situation, saying he would have tried to get the same attention during his Presidential bid if it would have made Americans more interested in him. The account that had received his account's like had responded with a thank you tweet and has now included Ted Cruz in their account biography.

Not the first time

Unfortunately, this is not Cruz's first time being blasted on Twitter, last year he was accused of being the Zodiac killer, and recently he was blasted on Twitter due to his meeting with Trump following Trump's unkind words about him.

Cruz also had used a porn actress in a proposed ad to attack Florida's Marco Rubio during the 2016 presidential election. Ted Cruz's college roommate even weighed in to suggest that this is not Cruz's first run in with porn by tweeting about the rooming situation during their freshman year at Princeton University.

The controversy around Cruz's Twitter account has been jokingly called unifying, with Twitter mentioning that this is one thing Americans all seem to find funny. Although not as serious as other political scandals in the past, this one has been the most talked about in a long time.

Cruz has taken everything lightly and has laughed off the mishap. But with the 2018 Senator election coming up for Florida, Cruz's campaign may just have found the perfect strategy to get good publicity, and show Americans that he really is just one of us.
