United States President's feud with the media went up a notch today as he took to his Twitter account and unleashed an extraordinary attack on the Good Morning Joe co-hosts. The President targetted them since he believes that the show covers him negatively and went on to say that Mika Brzezinski was 'bleeding badly' due to a facelift when he met her last Christmas.

An extraordinary tirade

Donald Trump often uses his Twitter feed to settle scores and has been doing so for many years. Since his entry into politics, he has been involved in a running feud with certain sections of the media, and in his latest Twitter tirade, the President lashed out at Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough for their unflattering coverage of his Presidency in a chain of tweets.

He started off by stating that he has heard that the ABC show is 'poorly rated' and then went off on another tangent by launching a personal attack on the co-hosts.

His tweets have caused quite a stir and have even shocked some members of his own party. Such personal attacks from the American President on private citizens in unprecedented in the country's history. Trump tweeted, “Then how come low-IQ, crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago three nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”

The backlash

Trump had once been in good terms with the hosts and had even called into the show when he was during the primaries.

However, the relationship soured at some point during the Presidential election. Even then, Trump had attacked the hosts for unfair coverage. Trump's latest tirade did not go down well and in fact, prominent Republicans condemned his behavior as well. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham took to Twitter and stated that his tweets were beneath the office of the President.

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse also said that such tweets were beneath the President's dignity and added that it wasn't normal behavior as he begged the Trump to stop.

Lynn Jenkins, another prominent Republican, and a member of the House of Representatives condemned Trump's tweet. In her tweet, she said, “This is not OK. As a female in politics I am often criticized for my looks. We should be working to empower women.” Mika Brzezinski responded by tweeting a picture in which she seemed to mock the President's small hands. For all intents and purposes, it seems that this particular feud might not be over in a hurry.
