Miss Universe 2016 winner Iris Mittenaere appeared in several events at the recently concluded New York Fashion Week. Aside from headlining a designer show, she attended the events in full glamour as she carried the brand of her crown.

Each year, the Miss Universe Organization sends its winners to New York Fashion Week to attend galas and represent the pageant. Since the organization is partnered with designer brand Sherri Hill, the titleholders also get the chance to walk in their annual fashion show.

New York Fashion Week ran from September 7 to September 13.

The runway events showcased the new collection for Spring/Summer 2018 and featured creations from younger designers.

Parties, galas

Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere, who hails from France, attended the kick-off party of the fashion week wearing a simple yet elegant ensemble which was revealed on the website of the pageant . Social media photos showed her wearing a silk polo overlay on top of a black dress with a revealing neckline. She paired this with a silk dark blue pair of pants and a necklace.

She was also spotted on her way to one of the fashion shows wearing a lovely little dress paired with an oversized cardigan.

She also attended the Sonjungwan Fashion Show wearing an aqua-colored sleeveless dress. She styled her hair in a beautiful braid and shared photos on her Twitter account.

Mittenaere was also seen with Miss USA 2017 Kára McCullough seated at the front row of Badgley Mischka’s show.

Mischka is a designer whose creations have become the favorite of many Hollywood fashion icons and stylists.

Sherri Hill show

Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere was one of the models who walked on the runway show of Sherri Hill.

She showcased an aqua strapless gown adorned with a mermaid fishtail cut to the skirt.

The brand Sherri Hill, introduced their Spring/Summer collection with some designs from previous seasons. During the show, they featured a set of strapless dresses, sexier cuts, trousers and spaghetti straps. The runway event opened with a multitude of red gowns and dresses. The set featured skirts that had floral prints over white fabric.

Sherri Hill then launched their white-themed collection followed by a series of gold and silver.

The brand creates pageant gowns, prom dresses and cocktail wear suited for teenage girls and young adults.

Mittenaere was crowned Miss Universe at the event held in Manila, Philippines back in January 2017. She is slated to crown the new titleholder later this year. Details on the date and venue of the pageant will unfold in the following weeks.
