When it comes to dates, it can be extremely stressful and nerve-racking. It's totally understandable if you have absolutely no clue what to plan for that special person. It honestly doesn't have to be dinner in a fine dining restaurant or some crazy elaborate plan. You only need three (okay, maybe more, but these are the most important) things; yourself, a date, and your undivided attention.

The Classic Stay-In Date

Put on a movie both of you enjoy, look up some recipes and cook, light candles, dim the lights, and make your home look even cozier than it already is.

A classic stay-at-home date can never go wrong. Personally, I love stay-in dates because there are so many things you can do with your date from sharing laughs over wine to spontaneously dancing - the possibilities are endless! Put your creativity to good use and make sure your date has an unforgettably fun night.

Stargazing

With summer right around the corner, it is the perfect time to pick a romantic, quiet spot and stargaze. Bring some snacks, a cloth big enough for two, and just lay down somewhere to appreciate our beautiful universe - it's like a picnic, but at night, and so much more beautiful. Of course, you'd have to make sure that the stars are visible for you and your special person to appreciate.

With a date like this, don't miss out on the chance to get to know your date. Dive deep, get to know them the way no one ever has.

Game Night

There are tons of games for two! Here are a few: chess, Jenga, Yahtzee, and Exploding Kittens. If you're not interested in board or card games, you can take it up a notch and make it boozy.

Heads Up, the whisper challenge, flip cup, and beer pong are great games for two that involved alcohol. Playing games are a great way to know a person. Who knows, maybe your date will show their competitive side - a little competition is sexy! Remember, don't drink too much and be sure to keep your date comfortable.

Dessert Run

This can get a little pricey depending on where you. Tell your date to eat prior to the date then go on an adventure of only desserts with them! There's no better way to the heart than a whole lot of delicious desserts. Personally, knowing my date's dessert taste is very important because I believe that it says a lot about a person. For example, if you're crazy for mint and your date is allergic then you guys might not work out but if both of you found out that you share the same obscure taste of liking wasabi ice-cream then it's a match made in heaven! However, if you and your date aren't interested in desserts, you can opt for a food run instead.

Go Hiking

This is only for those outdoorsy athletic people.

If you hike often, take your date to your favorite hiking spot and share that moment with them. Being able to share your favorite spot with someone special can bring a certain type of indescribable joy. It costs you almost nothing to hike and it has great health benefits so that's a major bonus. Take a look at this beautiful spot for inspiration! If you're more of a stay-at-home kind of person, refer to idea #1.

Visit a Museum or an Art Show

Find out all the interesting museums around your area and keep an eye out for art shows. Not only would you gain an insight about the art world, you would also engage in intellectually stimulating conversations about the art pieces. The best part about a museum date is that you would never run out of topics to talk about - art is interpreted differently by each person.

Having a discussion and sharing your thoughts is the best way to get to know a person. It's definitely an added bonus if both of you are interested in art.

Collaborate

It can be on work, a video, a cover of a song, or even some brilliant unheard project. This may not be for everyone but if you prefer having your creative juices flow on a date, talk to your special human and collaborate on something together! Find some common ground and build off from that, there's no better way to bond with a person than engaging in something both of you are interested in to create a result that both of you can be proud of.

Go to a Pet Shop

I don't know a single person who doesn't love animals so it's pretty much the best way to impress your date.

Some pet shops allow customers to pet or play with the animals in the shop - do prior research! Not only will this leave a great impression, it would be an unforgettable date. It would also make your date's day, or even week. Animals radiate happiness so this is a fail-safe date.

Get Coffee

It doesn't matter if you drink coffee or not. Pick a nice cafe and spend time talking to your date. The best way to get to know someone is to talk to them. If both you have chemistry, you'll be so engrossed in the conversation that you lose track of time.

Go for a Walk

Can be a walk on the beach, park, or even in the woods. It would give you plenty of time to talk to your date and also get some exercise along the way. Who knows, maybe you'll come across a really beautiful landmark or be able to witness a sunset together. A date, after all, is about spending quality time together.
