A popular New Year’s resolution is to stop smoking. Millions of Americanshave quit smoking with an e-cigarette despite a desperate onslaught of organizations and government campaigns trying to convince you otherwise. Journalists copy and paste the same information in their reports with little or no research. Use of e-cigarettes has overtaken the world, and users who have reduced or stopped smoking with e-cigarettes have started a revolution.

Is it your goal to quit smoking? Will it be your new year’s resolution? Have you tried the patch, gum and lozenges?

By using a product designed to fail and the constant guilt you are surrounded with, have you had enough? There are quit lines and a slew of advice. According to experts, if you fail it’s your fault. You didn’t try hard enough. Scolding and psychology aren’t working?

You’re already smoking. I encourage you to try an e-cigarette. You don’t need commitment. You don’t need a coach. You don’t “have” to stop smoking right away. You don’t need a counseling program. You or someone you love needs proper information. Aside from not being afraid, you need to remember three things that could mean the difference between success and failure when you walk into a vape shop.

  1. Taste. You want to taste a flavor you already like.
  2. Nicotine Strength. Nicotine is extremely important. That creates your “throat hit”. If you smoke lights, you may want lower nicotine strength at first. If you are a full flavor smoker, you may want higher nicotine strength.
  3. Backups. All things can fail, batteries, tops & chargers. Plan on two of each at first.

Don’t be persuaded to purchase the most expensive type at first.

I recommend an “eGo” style for ease and effectiveness. I stopped smoking accidentally in less than 48 hours. Not knowing that campaigns against e-cigarettes were (and still are) well underway, I was inspired to create a survey last year. With over 7,238 participants from 72 countries, only two percent said an e-cigarette did not work.

Twelve percent said they were "dual users" (both smoking and vaping).

Have you noticed no one but health & government ever recommends the patch and gum? Do you hear them raving about the success with those methods? They're certainly not telling you the success stories on e-cigarettes! They are drowning those quit smoking stories with lies.

Don’t take my word for the effectiveness and safety of e-cigarettes to quit or reduce smoking. You can seek the research at ecigarette-research.org.

You can also seek out established harm reduction groups in the United States. Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA), Not Blowing Smoke, and the Vaping Militiaare allwilling to educate consumers about the journey to quit smoking. There are scientists, researchers and doctors at "Medical Organizations supporting Vaping and Electronic cigarettes" (M.O.V.E.) who'll give you the same positive message.

To quit smoking is a personal choice. My New Year resolution was to stop smoking -for over 30 years. You must decide for yourself if you’re going to quit smoking.

You must completely ignore the irresponsibility of most public health figures and Government officials. It’s like they’re trying to convince you to continue smoking. It’s like they’re prescribing cigarettes. Their job is to pretend e-cigarettes are bad because they are losing revenue. There's a reason e-cigarette users are passionate. My job is to inform you of the truth. Once you learn it, I hope it works for you as well. You may end up a part of the accidental “I quit smoking with an e-cigarette revolution".
