Activision and Sledgehammer Games are all set to launch their 'Call of Duty: WWII' video game in November. Players on the PS4 and Xbox One have already had a taste of the things to come through the beta events that were conducted on these two platforms. However, PC gamers have yet to experience the gameplay. Sledgehammer Games have announced that an open beta for all gamers on the PC will be hosted by the developers of the game from September 29 to October 2.
Things to know about the PC beta
The beta event on the PC version will be open for all interested gamers.
In the case of the console beta events, Sledgehammer only allowed those players into the beta who preordered the 'Call of Duty: WWII' game. However, no such restrictions have been put in place for the PC beta event. For this platform, the developers will allow anyone interested to participate. Players can decide whether they would like to preorder the game or not depending on the impression that they have over the beta gameplay.
It is important to note that similar to the console beta events, the PC beta version of the game will also only allow players to engage in the online multiplayer action, instead of the single-player campaign. Sledgehammer Games revealed through a post in its community forum that a small portion of the entire multiplayer experience provided by the full game will be shown off during the PC beta.
Through the beta events, the developers will understand whether the gameplay mechanics in the game worked properly. They will also be able to pinpoint any issues or bugs that may be present in the beta version of the game. The feedback from players will then be taken into regard. Through all of these procedures, Sledgehammer will get to know what needs to be modified in the game, so as to make the final release a better version.
System requirements for running the game
Since, 'Call of Duty: WWII' is a modern-day AAA game, all interested PC beta testers will first need to ensure that their gaming system has the necessary power to run the impending game. Sledgehammer released the minimum requirements for the game for PC users. Players will need to have a computer running on an Intel Core i3 3225 or higher processor, along with 8 GB of RAM and at least 25 GB of free storage space in the hard disk. A 2 GB Nvidia GTX 660/AMD 2 GB Radeon HD 7850 or better graphics card is also required to play the game. A broadband internet connection and Windows 7 64 bit OS or later is necessary as well.
