Just five months following its release, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" won't be receiving any more updates for its single-player campaign. That's the sad news that was delivered by BioWare on Saturday, when they took to their official website to share some details.
According to the post, BioWare has been hard at work to make sure that they were "heading in the right direction." The studio admitted that they've been hard at work to make sure that gameplay is amazing for each player, simply by listening to player's feedback and concerns. In fact, they wrote that some of the work they've done since the game was released in March this year was that they improved animation and expanded customization options.
However, it comes as a shock to players that the studio opted out of releasing more updates for the single-player campaign of the game.
Update 1.10 is the last update for single-player mode
According to Gamespot, BioWare announced via their official website that Update 1.10, which was released in July, is the last update that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will receive for its single-player mode. The post read that "There are no planned future patches for single-player or in-game story content." However, players should expect more details about the ongoing support and upcoming content for the multiplayer mode.
BioWare focusing on Pathfinder missions
The post from BioWare indicated that right now, the focus for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is more on the Pathfinder's story and exploration of the Andromeda galaxy.
BioWare wrote that the game was "designed to further expand on the Pathfinder’s journey" through "story-based APEX multiplayer missions."
EA committed to change and improvement
Back in June, Engadget spoke to Electronic Arts Executive Vice President Patrick Soderlund, who admitted that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" had its bugs and glitches.
He mused, "That's something I look at and I say there needs to be a change in process and a change in strategy... It warrants a change in process, it warrants a change in approvals, which we're going through. So all I can say to those people who feel that way is, we hear you, and we agree with you.
We will make sure that we rectify that going forward."
More information coming November 7
For those who are waiting for more updates on the multiplayer mode of "Mass Effect: Andromeda," the studio promises to have more on that on November 7, or what they call "N7 Day." It is now playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
