A number of notable games will be released in the first half of August. These games cover a wide array of genres, styles, and can be played on a variety of game systems. Without further ado, let's found out which games will be released soon.


"Tacoma" is a first-person adventure game being developed and published by Fulbright. This is the second game by the studio, with their first being 2013's indie hit "Gone Home."

Much like that game, "Tacoma" focuses on being a game driven by storytelling, as the player has to solve the mystery behind six missing crew members on a space station.

The game is set to release August 2 on Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux.

'Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice'

"Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice" is a third-person, action-adventure game. It is being developed and published by Ninja Theory, best known for 2007's "Heavenly Sword" and 2010's "Enslaved: Odyssey to the West."

The game features title character Senua experiencing a personal journey through a hellish underworld formed from her psychotic manifestations. "Hellblade" will be released on August 8 on PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.


"Lawbreakers" is a multiplayer-only, first-person shooter developed by Boss Key Productions and published by Nexon. This is Boss Key Productions first game, as the studio was founded back in 2014 by former "Gears of War" lead designer Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee, who was development director of "Killzone." The game will have several different multiplayer modes and features gravity manipulating combat.

"LawBreakers" releases on August 8 on PS4 and Microsoft Windows.

'Agents of Mayhem'

Agents of Mayhem” is a third-person, open-world action-adventure video game. It is being developed by Volition, best known for the “Saints Row” Franchise, and is being published by Deep Silver. The game is set in a futuristic Seoul, South Korea and is a spinoff set in the extended “Saints Row” universe.

There are 12 different M.A.Y.H.E.M. agents players can choose from to do battle against super villain organization L.E.G.I.O.N. The game releases on August 15 on Xbox One, PS4 and Microsoft Windows.

'Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition'

Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition” is a re-release of controversial 1992 video game “Night Trap”, which was one of the games that led to the creation of the ESRB rating board.

It is an interactive movie video game, with the re-release being developed and published by Screaming Villians.

Besides the base game, it will also feature deleted scenes, developer commentary, theater mode, a survivor mode and a playable version of the unreleased “Scene of the Crime” prototype game. “Night Trap” releases on August 15 for the PS4 and Microsoft Windows. An Xbox One version will also be released at a later date.

'Sonic Mania'

Sonic Mania” is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Headcannon and PagodaWest Games and published by Sega. The game takes heavy inspiration from the original “Sonic the Hedgehog” games, featuring 2D graphics and remastered versions of iconic stages from older games as well as newer ones.

Players will be able to control Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles as they work to defeat Doctor Robotnik. “Sonic Mania” releases on August 15 for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows.
