Red Dead Redemption 2 has officially been confirmed in a recent announcement from Rockstar Games that the game won’t be released until Spring 2018. But as a consolation, the game publisher released 7 screenshots of the upcoming hit action-adventure video game, which you can view above.

Rockstar Games statement

In a recently released statement, Rockstar Games apologized for pushing back RDR2, pointing out that they need extra time in order to deliver “the best experience possible” for their fans.

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer,” said the game publisher.

Delay has been expected

The long-awaited sequel to the 2010 Red Dead Redemption was previously announced for a fall 2017 release. Obviously, to most gamers, this is somewhat sad news, but unsurprising.

Gamers even pointed out that they have predicted the news will be announced to the public eventually. And the game publisher did. Since the announcement, forums have been flooded with discussions about the game’s official screenshots.

The game publisher has already been notorious for delaying their high-profile games.

Regardless of the delay, these are still highly anticipated titles and fans still look forward to them, despite the wait. You can never rush perfection.

Screenshots provide a glimpse at Rockstar Game’s ambitious feat

In the officially released screenshots for RDR2, the giant Redwood forest has been featured. This includes the trainlines and the township and prairie setting.

This proves that this massive title will have a new range of locations, something fans will get to enjoy.

Platforms

Initially, Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced to be released on both Xbox One and PS4. Now that the Nintendo Switch has become one of the hottest-selling hybrid consoles in the market, many are wondering whether or not the game will be released for the Switch.

As of this writing, Take-Two Interactive has not released any official statement or plans on bringing the game over to the hybrid console. Yet, according to GameSpot, Take-Two Interactive noted that they are “intrigued and excited.” Further, players shouldn’t expect the game being launched for PCs anytime soon.

More information during E3 2017

According to Rockstar Games, more details about Red Dead Redemption 2 will be unleashed this “summer.” And the only other event coming up that fits the bill is the E3 2017, which is less than a month away. So, we could expect more information then.
