Every week during the course of the regular season, we will take a look at players who performed well in fantasy but weren’t owned in many leagues. A quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, and a tight end will be highlighted.
In order to be eligible for the list, the player must have been owned in less than 25 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues heading into their game.
Some of Week 1’s stars were amongst the most picked up players heading into this week including John Ross III, Chris Thompson, and Malcolm Brown. Expect much of the same for this past week’s players to make the list.
Here are your Week 2 fantasy football stars who were likely unowned led off by a highly-paid quarterback who hasn’t been able to stay on the field.
Quarterback - Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers (297 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 1 interception, 8 rushing yards)
Garoppolo’s 297 passing yards were his most since December 17, 2017, and it was just his second career game of three touchdown passes (other instance occurring on September 18, 2016).

Running back - Raheem Mostert, 49ers (83 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 68 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown)
Thrust into more action with Tevin Coleman injured, Mostert took advantage with a career game. The fifth-year back had just one career touchdown prior to his 39-yard receiving score in the first quarter.
This won't show up in the box score, and the 49ers fumbled it away a few plays later, but Raheem Mostert had more than one run like this during which he turned a seeming disaster into something positive. Given injuries, Mostert is about to get a lot of run, IMO. pic.twitter.com/P4Bjg1jKrm
