Continuing with the series of top 10 draft picks since 1990, let's now move on to the Golden State Warriors who have experienced quite a bit of success, recently, and are currently playing in the NBA Finals.
In order to make this list, the player must have actually been drafted by the Warriors. Only the player's impact with Golden State is considered (players like Marco Belinelli and Tyrone Hill had more success after leaving the Warriors). Where the player was selected makes a difference (if a 30th overall pick had about as much impact as a third overall pick, then the 30th overall pick will be higher).
All draft picks were found at Basketball Reference.
Stephen Curry - First round, seventh overall (2009)
Known, by most, as the best shooter in NBA history, Curry has won back-to-back MVPs (2014-15 and 2015-16), three NBA championships (possibly four), and already has 16,315 points in his career. According to Adam Fromal of NBA Math, he is averaging 32.4 points with a 60.7 true shooting percentage thus far in the NBA Finals this year, numbers that have only been matched by Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James.
Draymond Green - Second round, 35th overall (2012)
Also a three-time (possibly four) NBA champion, Green was the 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year, has made the All-Defensive First Team three times (made Second Team last two seasons), and has averaged at least 6.9 assists each of the last four seasons as a forward.
Klay Thompson - First round, 11th overall (2011)
The third straight player on the list with three rings who is currently still playing, Thompson has been named to the last five All-Star Games, has averaged 20+ points in each of the last five seasons, and has made 41.9 percent of his career three-point tries.
Monta Ellis - Second round, 40th overall (2005)
Ellis led the league in minutes per game in both 2009-10 and 2010-11, and he averaged a career-best 25.5 points a contest in the first of those seasons.
Latrell Sprewell - First round, 24th overall (1992)
While many think of his choking incident with P.J. Carlesimo, Sprewell was extremely productive with Golden State and averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 400 games with the team.
Jason Richardson - First round, fifth overall (2001)
Playing six seasons with the Warriors, Richardson scored 8,008 points with the team and twice averaged over 20 points an outing.
Troy Murphy - First round, 14th overall (2001)
In five full seasons with Golden State, Murphy was able to procure three years of double-double averages in points and rebounds.
Harrison Barnes - First round, seventh overall (2012)
While he was never one of the main options on a team featuring Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Barnes was a starting forward on the 2014-15 championship team and made 37.6 of his three-point attempts with the Warriors.
Gilbert Arenas - Second round, 31st overall (2001)
While he spent just his first two seasons with the Warriors, Arenas started all 82 games at point guard in 2002-03 posting averages of 18.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
Kevon Looney - First round, 30th overall (2015)
Looney has been a key piece off the bench averaging 18.4 minutes per game in last season's playoffs which resulted in a championship, and he has increased his playing time to 20.3 minutes a night in this year's postseason so far.
