The Philadelphia 76ers saw their season come to an end in heartbreaking fashion as Kawhi Leonard’s buzzer-beater gave the Toronto Raptors a 92-90 victory in a do-or-die Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday.
It will be a very interesting offseason for Philadelphia as they likely will see three of their starters enter the free agent market, including Tobias Harris whom the team acquired in February. HoopsHype takes an in-depth look at what awaits them in the offseason.
Here are the notable upcoming free agents for the 76ers (listed in alphabetical order by last name). Their free agents list was taken from Spotrac. Ages listed are how old they will be once the new regular season begins.
Jimmy Butler (SF) - Player option for $18,467,976, Age: 30
It's safe to say that Butler will decline his option to become an unrestricted free agent. Acquired in mid-November of last year via trade by the 76ers, he went on to post averages of 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.8 steals in 55 regular season contests for Philadelphia. He saw increases in some of his numbers (averaged 19.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists) in their 12 playoff games.
James Ennis III (SF) - Player option for $1,733,358, Age: 29
Acquired from the Rockets via trade in early February, Ennis III became one of the key cogs off Philadelphia's bench. With the 76ers, he averaged 5.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18 regular season contests (improved to 7.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11 playoff games).
Tobias Harris (PF) - Unrestricted, Age: 27
In early February, the 76ers traded for Harris in a deal with the Clippers. He integrated well with the team and had per game averages of 18.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. His shooting dipped in the postseason as he shot 42.5 percent from the field while averaging 15.5 points in 12 postseason outings.
Boban Marjanovic (C) - Unrestricted, Age: 31
Marjanovic was productive in somewhat limited minutes for Philadelphia. Also acquired in the Tobias Harris deal, he scored 8.2 points and grabbed 5.1 rebounds on average with Philadelphia.
T.J. McConnell (PG) - Unrestricted, Age: 27
A member of the 76ers for each of his four NBA seasons, McConnell shot a career-best 52.5 percent from the field in 2018-19. In 19.3 minutes per contest, he averaged 6.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
J.J. Redick (SG) - Unrestricted, Age: 35
In two seasons with Philadelphia, Redick has connected on 433 three-pointers at a 40.7 percent clip. This past season, his 18.1 points per game was the most of his 13-year career.
Mike Scott (PF) - Unrestricted, Age: 31
Acquired along with Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic, Scott became one of Philadelphia's most-reliable scorers off the bench. The sharp-shooter made 41.2 percent (49-119) of his three-point tries in 27 regular season games with the 76ers.
