After looking at the best recent draft picks for 17 different teams, it's time to now look at the Titans who have the 19th pick in April's draft. Chad Reuter of NFL.com has them selecting edge rusher Brian Burns out of Florida State with that pick.
The Titans have made the playoffs six times since 2000, but only once in the past 10 seasons. While some players that they have drafted have had (or still are having) productive careers for Tennessee, they haven't drafted any sure-fire Hall of Famers in that time that have helped the team reach new heights.
Note: Only time with the Titans is considered for this list. Where they were drafted makes a difference - meaning this isn't exactly a top-ten players drafted by Tennessee since 2000 list. Some late-round picks that didn't quite make the list but had solid careers with the team include Peter Sirmon (fourth round, 2000), Justin Hartwig (sixth round, 2002), Jacob Bell (fifth round, 2004), Eugene Amano (seventh round, 2004), Jason McCourty (sixth round, 2009), Daquan Jones (fourth round, 2014), and Avery Williamson (fifth round, 2014).
Jurrell Casey, DT - 3rd round, 77th overall (2011); time with Titans: 2011-present
A Pro Bowler each of the last four seasons, Casey has developed into one of the league's best interior linemen. He has accumulated 46 sacks and seven forced fumbles thus far in his career.
Chris Johnson, RB - 1st round, 24th overall (2008); time with Titans: 2008-2013
The 2009 Offensive Player of the Year, Johnson rushed for 2,008 yards that season which is the sixth-most in league history. Altogether, he ran for 7,965 yards and 50 scores in a Titans uniform.
Keith Bulluck, LB - 1st round, 30th overall (2000); time with Titans: 2000-2009
Bulluck recorded at least 100 tackles in six of his 10 seasons with Tennessee including a league-leading 152 in 2004. He was named a First Team All-Pro Member in the 2003 season.
Albert Haynesworth, DT - 1st round, 15th overall (2002); time with Titans: 2002-2008
An absolute load to handle in the middle of the defensive line, Haynesworth was a Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro member in each of his last two years with the team. He got to the opposing quarterback 24 times for a sack in his Titans tenure.
Taylor Lewan, OT - 1st round, 11th overall (2014); time with Titans: 2014-present
Lewan has started 62 of a possible 64 games in the last four seasons for the Titans. He has represented the AFC in the Pro Bowl each of the last three seasons. The team has added Roger Stafford to improve the line alongside Lewan, and Titans Wire of USA Today mentions how the two are already building towards a friendship.
Michael Roos, OT - 2nd round, 41st overall (2005); time with Titans: 2005-2014
In his first nine years in the league, Roos missed a grand total of one game. In 2008, he was named a Pro Bowler as well as a member of the First Team All-Pro.
Michael Griffin, S - 1st round, 19th overall (2007); time with Titans: 2007-2015
In nine seasons with Tennessee, Griffin intercepted 25 passes and forced 11 fumbles. He was named to the Pro Bowl in the 2008 and 2010 seasons.
Cortland Finnegan, CB - 7th round, 215th overall (2006); time with Titans: 2006-2011
A late-round gem, Finnegan started 79 games for the Titans. The First Team All-Pro in the 2008 season intercepted 14 passes for the team with three of those being returned for a score.
Kevin Byard, S - 3rd round, 64th overall (2016); time with Titans: 2016-present
In just his second season in the NFL, Byard tied for the league-lead with eight interceptions as he was named a First Team All-Pro. He went on to intercept another four passes last year.
David Stewart, OT - 4th round, 113th overall (2005); time with Titans: 2005-2013
Stewart spent eight years as a mainstay on Tennessee's offensive line as a right tackle. The former fourth-round choice went on to start 116 games.
