The Miami Dolphins have hired Brian Flores as their new coach after cutting Adam Gase who led the Miami Dolphins to a wild-card berth in 2016. The franchise opened the season 3-0 but ended up stalling out and underperforming in too many games. Flores is a defensive-minded coach from the New England Patriots.
Preston Smith - OLB
The Miami Dolphins defense struggled in several ways. The Dolphins allowed 48 offensive touchdowns and gave up the fourth-most total YPG. Preston Smith is a four-year pro from the Redskins. Smith has recorded 24 sacks in 64 games. Smith is strongest as a run defender, fixing holes created by the fourth-worst defense in the NFL.
Bilal Powell - RB
The Dolphins have continued to struggle with their running game. Frank Gore ended the season on injured reserve. Bilal is a eight-year veteran who recorded 343 rushing yards this past season. He could be key at strengthening the Miami backfield.
Danny Shelton - DL
Miami struggled defensively and with Patriots' Brian Flores becoming the new coach, Flores could target Danny Shelton who was part of the Super Bowl LIII championship defensive team that held the Rams to only three points. Shelton would add more strength to the interior spots but adds more beef as well. This 345-pound star would be a perfect match for Flores' team.
Matt Paradis - C
Last offseason the Miami Dolphins cut several veterans including DT Ndamukong Suh and TE Julius Thomas. They also released center Mike Pouncey. Miami has had to deal with their center players getting injured. Matt Paradis suffered an injury this past season but started every game for the Broncos from 2015-2017. Adding Paradis infuses the center position with a younger player and allows Daniel Kilgore would add depth to guard.
Brandon Graham - DE
Brandon Graham should probably be considered the MVP of Super Bowl LII. Graham managed to sack Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter, forcing a fumble, allowing the Eagles to score the final points of the game. The Dolphins have had a struggle getting to opposing quarterbacks. The Dolphins only recorded 31 sacks this past season. Graham would be a strong addition for the front seven.
