While 2018 was a good year for animated films, 2019 is welcoming a "How to Train Your Dragon" sequel, and for Disney fans, a fourth Toy Story film. Many of the films are aimed at children and families. Most of this year's releases will be CG animated films, while a few are stop-motion films.
'The Addams Family'
MGM has developed a new adaptation of "The Addams Family." The animated adventure has the Addams Family face off against a reality TV host.
'The Lion King'
The most anticipated animated film of the year is "The Lion King." Disney calls it a live-action film, but it's computer animation. Jon Favreau is directing the remake and it features a cast of great actors and actresses.
'Toy Story 4'
Pixar and Disney have expanded the Toy Story cinematic universe with one more film. It's rumored the film deals with a missing Bo Peep. "Toy Story 4" was originally scheduled for release in 2017, but was then pushed back until 2019.
'The Secret Life of Pets 2'
Illumination and Universal are releasing a sequel to their hit "The Secret Life of Pets." The film is scheduled for release on June 7, 2019.
'How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World'
The "How to Train Your Dragon" sequel brings Toothless a mate, but discovers a new world, which threatens the peaceful village. The film releases on February 22, 2019 and is expected to be the final chapter in the franchise.
