This past year was big for Movies, and blockbuster superhero flicks led the way. Overall, records were set this summer, and Thanksgiving, and Christmas. When it's all said and done, this looks to be the first year in which a $12 billion box office was achieved. Here are the five films that led the way in 2018.
Black Panther
The Marvel comics superhero flick "Black Panther" led the way at the box office this past year with over $700,000,000 earned. It's also earned a number of honors including Golden Globe nominations and a spot on the AFI Top 10 films of the year list.

Avengers: Infinity War
Marvel takes the second spot, for the past year, with their blockbuster "Avengers" film. "Infinity War" generated $678,815,482 in total gross revenue. It's the first of the final two in the "Avengers" series, meaning Marvel has more big numbers to come in 2019. There's also "Captain Marvel" on the way ahead of the Avengers and then Spider-Man. The superhero fun just won't stop!
