The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team may have finished with a 4-8 record in 2018, but the optimism for 2019 is growing by the day. With recruiting on the rise and several key components returning on both sides of the ball, Huskers fans are already counting down the days until Week 1 of the 2019 season!
Adrian Martinez -- QB
This is a no-brainer. Martinez is the straw that stirs the drink on offense for the Huskers. His ability to pass and run with great efficiency will be determine how far this team goes in 2019.
Maurice Washington -- RB
No one can replace a stud like Devine Ozigbo, but as a freshman, Maurice Washington gained nearly 500 yards rushing and showed flashes of becoming the goto guy next season.
Dedrick Mills -- RB
Mills, a JUCO transfer, is expected to bring help to the Huskers running game. Teaming him up with Maurice Washington should give Nebraska a nice 1-2 punch.
Lamar Jackson -- CB
Jackson’s roller coaster of ups and downs can end on a high note in 2019. The upcoming senior has a chance to play a huge roll for the Huskers on defense as they will lose Tre Neal, Antonio Reed and Aaron Williams to graduation.
Coach Scott Frost
The coach? You bet! The fact that Frost’s former team, UCF still talks highly about him a year after he returned to his alma mater shows what he means to college football. Frost knows he won’t get a free pass in 2019 because the talent he is building is on the rise. This guy is ready for the challenge!
