Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V Album: 5 cool things about Weezy's new LP

Hip-hop star Lil Wayne has finally brought forth his new release and fans are loving it.

Wayne's mom and daughter are featured

Wayne shows love for his fans and his family on the new release. His mom gives an emotional intro track to the new album, while his daughter Reginae sings the chorus on "Famous."

Kendrick Lamar goes insane lyrically

It's not a major surprise that when Kendrick Lamar blesses a track he's the star no matter who's album it is. That's the case again, even with a great like Wayne, who takes a backseat to Kendrick's sick verse on "Mona Lisa."

'Tha Carter V' brings throwback beats

Wayne and his production team, including Swizz Beats, Metro Boomin, and DJ Mustard pay homage to hip-hop classics. "Uproar" features a throwback sample to G Dep's 2001 song "Special Delivery" while "Dope N——z" features Snoop Dogg and "Xplosion" from Dre's "Chronic" album.

Barack Obama drops a line

He doesn't necessarily rap for Lil Wayne's album, but President Barack Obama is part of the project. Obama famously referred to Wayne during one of his speeches and that classic line made the final cut, serving as part of one of the album's first songs.

Fans get a bit more XXXTENTACION

The late hip-hop artist was considering one of the rising stars in the genre. His untimely death cut short what could have been a career full of gems. Luckily for fans, there are songs out there, and this new one, "Don't Cry," is anther gem of an entry for his music catalog.
