A denture is a prosthetic device used to replace missing teeth. It provides support to the soft and hard tissues of your mouth. There are two main types of dentures: conventional and non-conventional. A conventional denture is removable while a non-conventional denture cannot be removed or replaced. If you are suffering from mastication, aesthetics, pronunciation or another similar problem, you should consult a dentist as early as possible. Patients with a periodontal disease or tooth decay can try the following home remedies.


To treat genetic defects, trauma, gum pain, and dentinogenesis imperfect, you should use turmeric on a regular basis.

It has excellent anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. The curcumin present in turmeric helps reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain of the teeth.

Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with two tablespoons of honey and a few drops of lemon juice. Prepare a soft paste and apply it on the affected teeth. Allow it to sit for ten to twenty minutes, and then rinse off with cold water. Repeat the process two to four times a week or until you see some improvements.

Aloe vera

If you are suffering from tooth decay or cracks in a denture, you should use Aloe Vera gel. It is one of the most useful and valuable remedies to get rid of tooth decay, gums, and denture pain. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.

It helps fight harmful viruses and bacteria that cause inflammation and pain.

Regular use of aloe vera oil or aloe vera gel helps soothe all inflamed nerves and prevents swelling. Take some aloe vera gel and apply on the affected teeth using your fingertips. Allow it to sit for half an hour, and then rinse your mouth with cold water.


Sage is one of the most wonderful and powerful herbs. It has anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. Regular use of sage helps cure tooth decay, swelling, inflammation, and gum pain. It is widely used in herbal and Chinese medicines – take a handful of sage leaves and grind it properly.

Apply the paste on the affected area two to three times a day.

Alternatively, you can boil two tablespoons of dried sage in one cup of water. Allow it to cool and gargle three to four times a day or until you see improvements.

Use foods like pasta, green vegetables, soups, pudding, yogurt and stews to cure the illness. If you do not observe improvements with these remedies, consult a dentist as early as possible. Have your teeth checked every year and ensure their proper cleaning.
