At Sunday night's WWE "Great Balls of Fire" pay-per-view, The Hardy Boyz attempt to win the WWE "Raw" tag team titles back from Sheamus and Cesaro after losing them at "Extreme Rules." Once again, the two teams will cross paths in a match with a set stipulation, making for a potentially interesting bout. Which of the two teams will emerge victoriously and have the tag team belts following tonight's pay-per-view? Here's the latest match preview including the predicted winners based on the latest odds.
Match buildup
At this year's "WrestleMania 33" in Orlando, Florida, a huge surprise hit as Matt and Jeff Hardy made their return to WWE.
If the stadium had a roof it would've been blown off by the crowd reaction. The duo returned and was entered into a Fatal Fourway match for the "Raw" tag team titles, with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson as the reigning champions. Matt and Jeff put on some impressive moves with the use of ladders, an object they're quite familiar with from their history with WWE.
Fast forward several weeks, and the team of Sheamus and Cesaro had managed to earn a No. 1 contender spot for the tag titles in a Tag Team Turmoil situation on "Raw." It looked like they were showing Matt and Jeff respect over the weeks, but the illusion of good sportsmanship disappeared when Sheamus and Cesaro attacked the Hardys after one of their matches.
From there, the two teams engaged in a feud which led up to a steel cage match at "Extreme Rules." Sheamus and Cesaro were able to defy the odds by dropping off the side of the cage before Jeff could pull his brother out the cage door. With that, there were new tag team champions.
Last month, the teams battled again in a "2-of-3 Falls" match on "Raw." Once again, the reigning champions were victorious in the match, leading to a new stipulation being set for tonight's bout.
At tonight's PPV, the two teams battle in a 30-minute Iron Man match. The winning team will score the most falls, pinfalls, or decisions in the allotted time and will leave Texas as the tag team champions.
Who will win?
While The Hardy Boyz are decorated champions within professional wrestling and multiple-time winners of the tag titles, it appears the odds are in favor of the current champions here.
As of a day or so ago, the tag team of Sheamus and Cesaro was listed as large favorites.
According to WWE Leaks, the current champs had a money line price of -1425 through the 5Dimes online sportsbook. Meanwhile, the Hardy Boyz were priced as +675 underdogs to capture a decision in their favor before the pay-per-view is over.
If Matt and Jeff find a way to win, it would be a major shocker based on the odds, but smart risk takers who believe in the longtime tag team's chances could benefit nicely. Who do you think will win tonight's tag team match at "Great Balls of Fire" PPV?
