Funcom has some big #gaming news for the players of the upcoming survival game “#Conan Exiles.” The Developer this week released a new video that showcased some of the big changes coming for the game.
According to DualShockers, developer Funcom shows off the first look at the upcoming game, which includes the Frozen North Biome and its map. Funcom this week released an extensive video narrated by Funcom creative director Joel Bylos and community manager Jens Vaaler, showcasing some of the major changes that will be coming to the game.
The survival game: Conan Exiles
Developed and published by Funcom, “Conan Exiles” is an open world survival video game for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game, which was first announced in January 2017, is set in the world of “Conan the Barbarian,” with the custom playable character being rescued by the game’s main character Conan.
Originally the game was slated for release in the middle of 2016 but was delayed and moved to Aug. 16 for Xbox One and the PC. In addition, a PS4 launch is also being planned for early 2018. Unfortunately, PS4 owners will have to wait due to the lack of an early access-like program on the Sony’s PlayStation 4 console.
What to expect from the upcoming update
As mentioned earlier by the gaming site Dualshockers, Conan fans will get to see some new, exciting changes to combat.
These include faster dodge rolls, doubled damage from monsters and more. Aside from the new combat features, players will also get a new temperature system that will prompt players to control warmth and cooling in the game in order to avoid discomfort and death.
For example, if the player feels a bit too warm, they have to have to drink more often.
If they’re in a cold area and without any protective clothing, players will only need to drink alcohol to keep them warmed up.
Additionally, Funcom has also released a small teaser of what is called “Journey events.” However, Funcom didn’t release much information about the “journey events.” Overall, the upcoming update is expected to bring a whole new gaming experience.
Players will get to see a frozen landscape, the much-talked frozen north. Check out the newly released video below to get more about this new update.
Other Funcom-related news
The Oslo, Norway-based developer is reportedly hard at work on updating the survival game “Conan Exiles.” Last month, the studio has updated the game’s engine from Unreal 4.12 version to 4.15 version. The process of updating takes a lot of time, but it’s worth it in the end.
Funcom has already announced plans to maintain transition to the new game engine version. The goal was to address a few issues, including the delay of the climbing patch. Overall, the new engine is expected to bring a smoother gaming experience for gamers.
