Disney dreams are coming true for Disney enthusiasts across the UK as auditions for Disneyland Paris begin today.
Disneyland Paris is searching for new staff in accordance with their current 25th-anniversary celebration preparations. The park is hoping to expand their character and parade department. In keeping with the theme, the candidates will need to be enthusiastic and energetic channeling the famous Disney characters.
The Disneyland site is looking for performers “who resemble the classic Disney female and male look-alikes for a variety of greetings and parades.
All look-alike performers must have a basic dance level and the distinguishing characteristics to portray these animated characters.”
Becoming a princess
For those always dreaming of being a beautiful Disney princess, roles are also available to apply for. Princesses must measure between 5 feet ten inches and 6 foot tall. Applicants will be required to speak English or French (or both). Copies of ID and CV’s will be needed to land the audition.
The positions begin in October 2017, with a contract of four months, however, cast your magic and you could become a permanent Disney cast member.
The roles are being cast to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Paris park which opened in 1992. The park opened to controversy as the French worried it would be Americanized and an advocate for junk food.
Join in the birthday celebrations
However, like any birthday bash, the organizers have gone all out to get things just right. The night time spectacle is packed full of Disney moments. The short film projected onto the Sleeping Beauty Castle is conducted by Mickey Mouse himself. The show finishes with a firework extravaganza, which sets off the day perfectly.
Disney has gone out of its way to prove how far the park has come with its new cutting-edge technology during parades and shows. The anniversary parade debuts the new seven-meter-high fire-breathing dragon from Sleeping Beauty. The new starlit princesses waltz day time show is performed to the back drop of the Sleeping Beauty castle, which is decked out in over 250,000 Swarovski crystals.
Alongside the parades and shows, a wave of merchandise and snacks to match the anniversary are available. Collectable items, hoodies and of course the famous Mickey Mouse ears are every Disney fan must haves.
If all the above isn’t more reason to be a part of the most magical family on earth then perhaps this isn’t for you. Applications can all be obtained through the Disneyland Paris website.
