Amidst the increasing number of OnePlus 5T leaks, there is finally confirmation regarding its release date and price. The highly-anticipated smartphone’s launch event is taking place on Nov. 16, at an event in Brooklyn, New York (11 AM ET / 8 AM PT). The phone will go on sale from Nov. 21. OnePlus recently tweeted about the upcoming event, surprising fans.

6-inch screen to have 16:9 aspect ratio

The smartphone maker’s slogan for the soon-to-be-released 5T is “A New View.” The slogan could mean the new display that has been incorporated into the upcoming smartphone.

OnePlus launched its 3T handset exactly a year ago. It was an upgraded model of the OnePlus 3 smartphone. Similarly, the 5T is an upgrade of the OnePlus 5 handset.

The 5T could have a brand new 6-inch screen with a larger 16:9 aspect ratio and thinner bezels. This could be the biggest difference between the OnePlus 5 and 5T. The price of the smartphone is still not official. However, CEO Pete Lau hinted that 5T could cost about ¥4,000 ($600 approx), reports PhoneArena.

Affordable price and AMOLED display

If this really is the price, then the handset is not far from the 128GB OnePlus 5 that costs about $540. The company’s biggest advantage is that it keeps its smartphone prices affordable. Hence, fans are hoping that 5T won’t go overboard with its price.

More information is expected during the live event and the tickets go on sale on Nov. 8 at 12 PM ET.

According to Business Today, Lau has also shared images clicked using the OnePlus 5T handset. The device is also expected to have an AMOLED display. This is because Lau said earlier that Samsung’s AMOLED display is the best in the market.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the 5T may sport a fullHD+ optic AMOLED 6-inch screen.

Other specs

The fingerprint scanner won’t be present underneath the screen. Instead, it could be placed at the rear of the device. A Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection will also be available. The dual camera setup could be one monochrome and one RGB.

One will be a 16MP camera with f/1.7 aperture, and the other a 20MP camera with f/2.6 aperture.

The front camera could be a 16MP shooter. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with an Adreno 540 GPU. There will be a 64GB and 128GB storage option, and a 6GB or 8GB RAM. OnePlus 5T will run on Oxygen OS-based Android Nougat. It could be upgraded to Android Oreo. A 3,450 mAh battery is also expected.
