Samsung introduced the support page for one of its smartphones, model-numbered, “SM-C7100,” on its Chinese website recently. This gave value to the already ongoing rumors that the company is going to launch a new mid-ranger soon. The device-in-question is believed to be, “Galaxy C8.” Additional information regarding the handset has been retrieved through the latest leak.

The reports suggest dual rear camera setup

According to a report by Sam Mobile, Galaxy C8 is tipped to carry a dual Rear Camera setup. Two alleged promos, listing out possible features for the handset have surfaced online.

The image also mentions that its fingerprint scanning feature will be placed under the physical home button on the rear panel. The theme in these promos can be perceived as light-hearted and youthful. Therefore, it can be assumed that the handset is targeted towards the younger generation. The primary Camera Module on Galaxy C8 will feature one 12-megapixel and one 5-megapixel sensor. Sources close to the matters reveal that these will be placed vertically on the back side. In the past, the product with the model number, “SM-C7100” was being marketed as Galaxy C7 (2017). It was later clarified that the handset would be called, “Galaxy C8,” instead.

Phone is spotted on TENAA

As reported by GSMArena, the handset has already been spotted on official websites of TENAA, Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) and Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA).

It is, therefore, certain that the market is very close to the smartphone launch. Samsung is likely to introduce its handset in the Chinese market first, following it up with other countries. Most of the devices introduced under the “Galaxy C” family are usually premium mid-rangers.The phone could be available by the mid-September in the US.

The same is expected from C8 as well. However, it will pertain one major difference. If the dual rear camera setup rumor turns out to be true, then it will be the first non-flagship Samsung device to sport that feature. Samsung’s other smartphone-in-the-making called, “Galaxy J7 (2017),” is also speculated to feature the dual camera module.

If the handset launches before C8, then it will steal J7’s thunder.

As noted by Android Headlines, the company debuted this feature with the launch of Galaxy Note 8. The handset was unveiled at Samsung’s “Unpacked” event held on 23 August, with its shipping scheduled to begin on 15 September. Its arch-rival, Apple will be unveiling iPhone 8 on 12 September. This is expected to provide Samsung enough time to position itself above the Cupertino giant.
