Tech fans and experts are expecting the Chinese electronics company, Xiaomi, to launch its latest Mi Mix 2 handset later this year. The new concept video of the upcoming Android smartphone teases an extremely thin bottom bezel. With the latest concept video, the tech company seems to take things further by releasing its mobile device with less bezel.

GSM Arena reported that Philippe Starck designed the new concept video of the Mi Mix 2 smartphone. The video showcased the display of the handset from top to bottom. The video, which was posted on Starck’s Facebook account, is dubbed as the Conceptual Product Design (WIP) of the Mi Mix 2 smartphone.

The WIP stands for work in progress. The video also showed the three sides of the mobile device.

However, with Mi Mix 2’s design in the concept video is still a work in progress, it might not be the final product. But, the video designer’s concept suggests that the Chinese tech giant could launch a gorgeous mobile device.

Specs of the smartphone

In terms of specs, the mobile device will come along with a 6.4-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with a 6GB of RAM and a 128GB of built-in storage. Nonetheless, the tech giant is expected to roll out three RAM and storage configurations - a 4GB of RAM with 128GB storage, a 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage, and an 8GB of RAM with 256GB storage.

On the camera front, the smartphone will arrive with a 13MP front camera for selfies and a 19MP rear camera. The device is anticipated to further come packed with a Non-removable Li-Ion 4500mAh battery. The handset is anticipated to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Handset with 3D facial recognition

According to Gadgets 360, a user of the Chinese micro-blogging website, Weibo, made it known that the smartphone will be available with a 3D facial recognition.

Moreover, the smartphone will be equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 802.11, A-GPS, and a USB Type-C. The smartphone will be available in two color options - Black and White.

Speaking about its release date, the tech company launched its predecessor in October 2016, so it is safe to say that the new handset will arrive in October 2017. The device is expected to have a CNY 4,999 price tag or approximately $750.
