The 2018 Nfl Draft may be over, but the New England Patriots continue to pile up players who will boost their stock for the upcoming season. The Patriots added nine players to their roster from the 2018 NFL Draft, including first-round selections offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and running back Sony Michel. In the second round, the Patriots took cornerback Duke Dawson while they picked linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley in the fifth. In the sixth, the Patriots acquired linebacker Christian Sam and wide receiver Braxton Berrios. In the seventh and final round, the Patriots took quarterback Danny Etling, cornerback Keion Crossen, and tight end Ryan Izzo.
Patriots ink several undrafted players
After the draft, the Patriots signed several undrafted free agents, including Georgia defensive tackle John Atkins, who will join his Tigers teammates Wynn and Michel in New England. The Patriots also signed defensive tackle Frank Herron (LSU), cornerback JC Jackson (Maryland), running back Ralph Webb (Vanderbilt), and tight end Shane Wimann (Northern Illinois). The Patriots also signed wide receiver Chris Lacy (Oklahoma State), defensive end Trent Harris (Miami), and defensive back A.J. Moore (Mississippi). The Patriots are also bringing in punters Corey Bojorquez (New Mexico) and Ryan Anderson (Rutgers) to their rookie minicamp for tryouts.
Patriots have 91 players on their roster
With the draft picks and signings, the Patriots currently have 91 players on their roster, including three quarterbacks in Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer, and Etling. According to Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston, the Patriots could sign a fourth quarterback in Johnny Manziel if team owner Robert Kraft approves it.
Etling could land on the practice squad if he doesn’t make the 53-man roster. The Patriots have seven running backs in Brandon Bolden, Rex Burkhead, Mike Gillislee, Jeremy Hill, Michel, Webb, and James White while they have seven wideouts in Berrios, Kenny Britt, Phillip Dorsett, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Cody Hollister, Lacy, Jordan Matthews, Riley McCarron, Malcolm Mitchell, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Matthew Slater.
Patriots have eight TEs, 10 cornerbacks
The Patriots also carry eight tight ends in Dwayne Allen, James Develin, Rob Gronkowski, Jacob Hollister, Ryan Izzo, Troy Niklas, Will Tye, and Wimann. They have 10 cornerbacks in Crossen, Dawson, Stephon Gilmore, Jackson, Cyrus Jones, Jonathan Jones, Ryan Lewis, Jason McCourty, Eric Rowe, and Jomal Wiltz and eight safeties in Patrick Chung, Nate Ebner, Duron Harmon, David Jones, Devin McCourty, A.J. Moore, Jordan Richards, and Damarius Travis. In terms of offensive linemen, the Patriots have 16 while they have eight edge defenders, seven defensive tackles, nine linebackers, and three specialists.

On their offensive line, the Patriots have David Andrews, Luke Bowanko, Trent Brown, Marcus Cannon, Cole Croston, James Ferentz, Antonio Garcia, Andrew Jelks, Ulrick John, Ted Karras, Jason King, Shaq Mason, Joe Thuney, Matt Tobin, LaAdrian Waddle, and Wynn.
The Patriots have Adrian Clayborn, Keionta Davis, Trey Flowers, Geneo Grissom, Harris, Eric Lee, Derek Rivers, and Deatrich Wise as edge defenders while Atkins, Malcom Brown, Adam Butler, Lawrence Guy, Herron, Danny Shelton, and Vincent Valentine as defensive tackles. Their linebackers are Bentley, Marquis Flowers, Nicholas Grigsby, Dont’a Hightower, Brandon King, Harvey Langi, Elandon Roberts, Sam, and Kyle Van Noy and specialists are Ryan Allen, Joe Cardona, and Stephen Gostkowski.
