It was almost a done deal in the last summer transfer window when everyone had thought that Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester City is imminent. However, for some unknown reasons, Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss, couldn’t seal the deal before the summer transfer window was closed.
The deal looked to continue in this contemporary January transfer window. But then, speculations of Sanchez to Manchester United raised. No one had expected this even in the beginning of the January transfer window that Sanchez would sign for Manchester United.
But now, Manchester United has almost completed the deal that’ll transfer Sanchez from London to Manchester.
It’s not yet confirmed, but the deal is said to be a swap-deal which will send Mkhitaryan from Man Utd to Arsenal and Sanchez to Man Utd from Arsenal. There’ll be no extra fees included in the deal.
The Chilean international, Alexis Sanchez himself tweeted a post which mentioned that Man United should be prised for the signing of Alexis Sanchez. Initially, many soccer news outlets believed that Sanchez snubbed Manchester City for United merely because Man Utd is paying more per-week wages to him than City.
Many soccer veterans came out denouncing the per-week wages notion and said it’s definitely not the case why Sanchez snubbed City for United. There are certainly other reasons why Sanchez is joining United over City.
What will he bring to Old Trafford?
It’s almost done a deal now as both, Mkhitaryan and Sanchez, were seen outside the UK embassy to sort out some legal issue before playing for their new clubs. Undoubtedly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 29, will be missed by United fans as he was so much determined and loyal to the club. However, he couldn’t replicate his Borussia Dortmund form at Old Trafford and eventually swapped out by the same manager who brought him to the theatre of dreams,

Sanchez has proved his worth at Barcelona as well as at Arsenal.
He’s an outstanding wing player which will definitely add values to United’s squad. Jose Mourinho, United manager, doesn’t necessarily need a winger as he has Martial, Rashford, Mata, Lingard. However, Sanchez is much experienced than all those players and can make United’s attacks more lethal,
His playmaking, finishing, and anchor play prowess will help United in scoring more goals and creating chances.
Plus, he’s a Premier League proved player so he doesn’t need time to settle himself at Manchester United.
Sanchez deal has also solved United’s Griezmann problem. Jose wanted to sign Griezmann in the last summer transfer window, but the player refused to join because his current club, Atletico Madrid, had some transfer bans to bring any new player so he decided to be loyal with the club.
Jose certainly doesn’t need Griezmann anymore as Sanchez is coming to fulfill his place. Now Jose can focus on signing a potential midfielder in the next summer transfer window. It’s a speculation that Jose would go for the Juventus midfielder, Paulo Dybala to make United’s midfield stronger.
When will he be ready to play?
Manchester United will play their next game against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup on January 27. He could feature in that game if United completes the deal before January 26. It’s certain that deal will be completed within 48 hours.
If he will be featured against Yeovil Town then Jose definitely include him in their next Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspurs on February 1. Man Utd won their last game against Tottenham by 1-0 in the Premier League.
Overall, Sanchez is a great addition to Jose and Co. He will definitely help United in the Champions League this season. Premier League title is almost claimed now as Manchester City is on the top of the points table with twelve points gap between them and the second spot team, Manchester United.
