Back at the early part of the season on October 15, Aaron Rodgers sustained a break to his collarbone. That break was so severe that 13 screws were put in to mend the fracture. That autumn game against the Minnesota Vikings went to the Vikings. It has been a rough road for the Packers and backup quarterback Brett Hundley, and the Packers have just a 6-6 record this season.
“Anytime you lose your best player and a guy who pretty much makes the team run, it is obviously a difficult situation to be in, one that requires you going through a lot of adversity and games that are a lot closer,” linebacker Clay Matthews said.
Packers’ Coach Mike McCarty said “…We need to be at seven wins when we get on that plane coming back from Cleveland. Nothing else matters.”
When Rogers got injured, the Packers’ season, as well as any Super Bowl talk, was placed on hold. The fact they were able to squeeze out two wins in six games without their top dog, means that Green Bay could turn it around in 2017.
Cleveland Browns
This game against Green Bay looks pretty grim for the Browns. They have only four games left to win in order not to tie with the Detroit Lions, who in 2008 went 0-16.
Although Cleveland has a losing record, they have fought hard this season. The Packers need to stay on their toes Sunday and be prepared for anything.
Linebacker Clay Matthews said. “You really have to persevere and grind these out. We are not overlooking the Browns. I think it would be foolish to look at their record and think that we are going to win because this is a young team that is competing and has some play makers.”
For now, Coach Jackson will be brought on next year for a third season.
It is imperative for him to get some wins in the last few games of the year.
If Cleveland goes 0-16, the Browns will secure the No. 1 overall draft pick. So, wave bye-bye to your winning NFL football career No. 1 draft pick, you just got on the losers’ team from last year. What a way to crush a young man’s dreams.
At any rate, the Browns are still looking under every stadium seat for their first win of the season.
The fact they do not have to face quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a huge benefit. Even still, the last win for Coach Jackson was on Christmas Eve, according to dawgpounddaily.com.
The rats in the chicken coupe
