The Seattle Seahawks have a tough game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11. So tough, that some NFL experts are picking the Seahawks to lose this important NFC matchup. If the Seahawks are going to have any real shot at catching the Los Angeles Rams and overtaking them for first place in the NFC West, then games like this one, against the Falcons, fall into the “must-win” category.
The Seahawks vs. Falcons game takes place during “Monday Night Football” this week, giving the teams center stage with a national audience. Game time is 5:30 PM PT, with the Seahawks hosting it at CenturyLink Field.
Coming off a big Thursday night (Nov. 9) battle against the Arizona Cardinals, though, the Seahawks are pretty banged up.
Seahawks vs. Falcons projections
CBS Sports has started revealing its Week 11 NFL picks and predictions, where experts reveal which teams they feel will win in a given week. NFL experts Pete Prisco and John Breech are picking the Seattle Seahawks to lose. In their predictions so far this season, Prisco is just 71-70-5, while Breech is at 72-69-5. It basically shows that they are wrong as often as they are right in their 2017 NFL predictions.
Jason La Canfora, Jared Dubin, Ryan Wilson, and Dave Richard are the other CBS NFL experts who have made their selections for the week.
They all side with the Seahawks in this pivotal game. The group of six mostly feels that the Los Angeles Rams are also going to lose this week. The Rams are on the road to play a tough game against the Minnesota Vikings, which also has a lot of importance in the overall NFC standings.
Seahawks trending up in NFC
After signing Dwight Freeney for the rest of the 2017 NFL season the Seattle Seahawks have been playing much better on defense.
The team is also 3-0 against NFC West teams, beating the Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers already this year. It puts the team in a really good position as the second half of the season plays out, especially since they hold some valuable tiebreakers. Beating the Atlanta Falcons would be an asset as well.
Following the game against the Falcons, the Seahawks will play the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams in successive weeks. While the 49ers aren’t that much of a threat, having to play the Eagles, Jaguars, and Rams will certainly test how good the Seahawks can be this season. If the team finds a way to win all those games, they will be alone in first place in the NFC West and in a good position to become the top seed in the conference.
