NBA.com has reported that the Detroit Pistons have defeated the Atlanta Hawks with the score of 109-87. Avery Bradley led all scorers with 18 points, Eric Moreland had a game high of 13 rebounds, and Ish Smith led all players in assists with eight. Dennis Schroder did not play for the Hawks and Andre Drummond did not suit up for the Pistons. With the East looking weaker without Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, the Detroit Pistons will have a big chance of going deep in the playoffs this upcoming season.
Malcolm Delaney steps up
WIth Dennis Schroder not playing last night, Malcolm Delaney stepped up and shouldered most of the offensive burdens of the Atlanta Hawks.
He contributed 15 points (team-high), two rebounds, and five assists against the Detroit Pistons. He also shot 50 percent from the field making five of his 10 shots and draining two three-pointers. WIth the Hawks rebuilding, Malcolm Delaney will have a chance to play big minutes this upcoming season and showcase his skills.
Dewayne Dedmon looking good
Dewayne Dedmon played another decent game last night against the Detroit Pistons. He contributed six points, five rebounds, two assists, and one block. He shot 60 percent from the field, making three of his five field goal attempts. Dedmon will be the starting center for the Atlanta Hawks this upcoming season and he could have another breakout season.
Ish Smith shoots 70 percent from the field
Ish Smith is a great point guard in the NBA, but his biggest weakness is his efficiency in terms of shooting the ball. Last night against the Atlanta Hawks, Ish Smith shot the lights out, making seven of his 10 field goal attempts. Smith contributed 15 points, five rebounds, and eight assists while shooting 70 percent from the field.
Everyone knows how good Smith passes the ball, but if he can shoot the ball consistently well, he may take a big step in becoming a better NBA player.
Avery Bradley puts on a show
Avery Bradley was acquired by the Detroit Pistons just a month ago, but despite that, he is looking very good in blending with his new team. Bradley had a solid game last night against the Atlanta Hawks, he led all scorers with 18 points.
He shot 57.1 percent from the field, making eight of his 14 field goal attempts to go along with two rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Detroit was already a very good defensive team but with the acquisition of Avery Bradley, their defense is looking rock solid going into the NBA regular season.
