Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid in last summer's transfer window. Morata struggled to find regularity in Real Madrid and signed with the defending champions in England.

The Spanish international has scored seven goals for Premier League champions since his arrival. He has started six Premier League games for Chelsea and scored six times. He also scored a goal in his Champions League debut with the Blues.

Chelsea has been struggling this season to reflect their last season’s performance and is standing fourth on the points table with 14 points.

The Blues are already six points behind the league leaders, Manchester United and Manchester City who have 19 points each. Conte had lots of pressure in his last game against Manchester City as City were topping the points table and Chelsea had two points less than City. Morata picked up a minor hamstring injury in the first-half and his fellow Spanish teammate, Pedro, replaced him.

Eventually, Chelsea lost the game by 0-1 on its home turf, Stamford Bridge. It was a humiliating defeat for Chelsea as they were already two points behind Chelsea and were playing in front of home fans.

Morata is out for a short time. Chelsea isn’t in danger as there's an international break of two weeks and the 24-years old could be fit for Chelsea’s next game against Crystal Palace.

When can he make his comeback?

The 24-year-old has already been pulled out of international duty with Spain, due to injury. According to Chelsea’s medical staff, former Real Madrid player will probably be fit to play Chelsea’s next match on October 14 against the Eagles.

Struggling Chelsea has already lost two games this Premier League campaign against Burnley and Manchester City.

Whereas, Crystal Palace is sitting at the rock bottom of the Premier League table. The Eagles haven’t won any of their Premier League matches so far.

If Chelsea beats the Eagles on Oct. 14, it’ll be a Premier League record of the worst start of a season. Even if Morata doesn't play against the Eagles, Conte has few good alternatives to replace him.

The best alternatives

Antonio Conte can replace Morata with Michy Batshuayi. Batshuayi has been performing excellently so far this season for the Blues. The Belgian striker has played two Champions League Match for Chelsea and scored two times. He’s been performing way better than the last season.

Another player, Eden Hazard can play as a striker for one or two games until Morata makes his comeback. Hazard is a winger, but his skills and capabilities are enough to fulfill a striker role occasionally. Overall, Morata is likely to feature against Crystal Palace, even if he doesn’t, Conte has enough plans and tactics to win against the Eagles.
