The Brooklyn Nets hosted the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, October 22 at their Barclay Center in Brooklyn. It was the Nets third game this season and their second straight winning game as well after they beat the Orlando Magic on a Friday night (October 20). The home squad shot in the overall 47 percent from the inside, hitting 41-of-87 shots and 41 percent from the three-point line, making 11-of-27 attempts. They outrebounded the Hawks 51-48 in this one but had 18 turnovers compared to just 16 for the visiting team.

The Atlanta Hawks started off the game solid as they outscored the Brooklyn Nets 25-19 after the 12 minutes of the game inside the Nets' court.
But the Nets answered a 13-7 run early in the second quarter to tie the score at 32. The Nets finished the period with 37 points and outscored the Hawks at halftime, 56-53.
The Nets kept their lead throughout and finished the third quarter, 35-24. Heading into the final quarter of the game, the Hawks came back with a 22-8 run, tying the score at 99.
But Allen Crabbe and DeMarre Carroll banked in helpful shots for the Nets to had 7-0 run within three minutes. In the end, the Nets finished a convincing win against the Hawks, 116-104.

Without Jeremy Lin, it was Allen Crabbe who led the Nets in their second winning game against the Hawks with his game-high 20 points.
Crabbe also added five rebounds and a steal while shooting 58 percent from the inside and hitting 4-of-7 three-pointers. D'Angelo Rusell as the Nets' leader in assists had 16 points and seven rebounds. DeMarre Carroll added 17 points while Caris Levert had 16 points in 29 minutes game time. Trevor Brooker contributed 14 points to go along with his six rebounds, four assists and a steal in their game against the Hawks.
For the Hawks, it was Marco Belinelli who led in scoring with 19 points. He shot 39 percent, making 5-of-13 attempts and 43 percent from beyond the arc, hitting 3-of-7 three-pointers. Dennis Schroder had 17 points, four rebounds, eight assists and two steals for the Hawks in 31 minutes off the bench. Schroder shot 100 percent from the free throw line by perfecting his seven free throws.
Kent Bazemore added 16 points in 32 minutes while John Collins had double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.
What's next?
After this game, the Brooklyn Nets improved their record to 2-1 overall. Brooklyn will play against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, October 24 with game time set for 7 p.m.
Their defeat puts the Atlanta Hawks at 1-2 for their season. They are set to face Miami Heat on Monday night (October 23) at 8 p.m.
