Wwe Superstar Paige is set to make a return to the company in what is being viewed as a highly dramatic twist to her career. Paige, in an interview with Busted Open Radio, said that she "can't wait to return to the WWE." After spending over a year on the sidelines due to her neck injury and subsequent, it appears that the former Diva's Champion is set to make a return after months of high drama surrounding her life.
Most Successful Woman's Wrestler
Paige is easily WWE's most successful women's wrestler since the era of Trish and Lita. Not only is she the youngest WWE Women's champion of all time (which she won at the age of 21), but she is also the only women's wrestler to win the title in her debut match.
However, Paige has been on somewhat of a downward spiral for the past year.
Paige suffered a neck injury that required extensive surgery which put her on the shelf for several months. Her relationship and subsequent marriage to former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio didn't go down too well with the company. Del Rio left the company on somewhat unfavorable terms citing creating differences, and Paige may have had to bear the brunt of this much like what AJ Lee had to endure when her husband CM Punk left the company.
Paige sex scandal
If that wasn't enough, several sex videos featuring Paige in her earlier years began to surface on the internet prompting the company to distance themselves from the black-haired bombshell slowly.
Some of the videos also featured former WWE Superstar, Brad Maddox and current Superstar and New Day faction member, Xavier Woods.
Things only got worse for Paige when she failed a routine drug test at the company and was handed a 30-day suspension. Months later, she failed the second test and was given a 60-day suspension.
Though Paige denied failing the test and said it was a prescription drug, the company on their website stated that it was for an "illegal substance" and not for a prescription drug.
Paige was also in the news earlier this July for being involved in an altercation with her husband, Alberto Del Rio, at the airport. According to sources, the couple were seen furious at each other and had to be separated by police.
Therefore, it comes as a bit of a surprise that Paige will be making a return to the company following all of this bad press. Neither the company nor Paige has been able to confirm a date, but she hopes that it is "sooner rather than later."
WWE fans would agree that having her back on the roster is going to favor Stephanie McMahon's woman's revolution vision, and if nothing else, certainly is "best for business."
