The Los Angeles Lakers have yet again finished on the losing side in the 2016/2017 NBA season. The Lakers were eyeing to win their second straight game when they took on the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Their hopes came up just short as Philly made it past the team from L.A. with a narrow victory 118-116. Earlier this season, the Lakers defeated the 76ers in Philadelphia with a double-digit win 100-89. Now the season series between the two sides stands at 1-1, and since they won't be meeting anymore this season -- the series will end up being a tied one.

Jordan Clarkson caught fire

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jordan Clarkson had a good day in the office, achieving his career-high of 30 points in a game, according to the team's official Facebook page. He as well contributed to his team with eight assists and six rebounds. Except Clarkson, power forward Julius Randle scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Lakers. Second overall pick of the 2016 NBA draft Brandon Ingram had an all-around performance, notching 12 points, three rebounds and steals, two blocks and a steal in 38 minutes of action. D'Angelo Russell and Ivica Zubac finished the clash in double figures as well, scoring 11 and 10 points respectively.

Where the Lakers stand now?

With a record of 20 wins and 46 losses on the season, the Los Angeles Lakers are the Western Conference's worst team and have the second-worst record in the NBA, behind the Brooklyn Nets (12-53). The loss on Sunday has given the Lakers a 12-19 record on their home floor this season. L.A. is in a great position to keep its top-3 pick in this year's NBA draft.

What's next for the LakeShow?

There won't be much resting time for the Los Angeles Lakers as they are set to meet the Denver Nuggets in Colorado on Monday. It will be the third match of the season between the two teams, and the season series is tied at one apiece - both teams ended on the winning side against each other while they were on the road. It remains to be seen how will the Lakers react after a tight loss to the Philadelphia 76ers a day before.
