We have always known that even if the author of the "Dragon Ball Super" manga is Toyotaro, the overall supervision always happens by Toriyama, both for the story and for the design. Thanks to the eighth tankobon, available today in Japan, we learn a little detail on the Jiren concept.

Inside the small volume, in fact, there are a number of curiosities, including some statements by Akira Toriyama and some additional drawings by Toyotaro. Among the contents of the register are also preliminary sketches of Jiren, accompanied by the explanation that the sensei had to slightly revise the original concept that the young mangaka had designed for the Pride Trooper.

Toyotaro designed Jiren

The difference is minimal, but in essence Toyotaro had designed Jiren with wider hips than we see today in the manga. The image below is very explanatory. On the left and at the top it presents the original idea of the disciple of Toriyama, while in the lower right corner we have the final product after the corrections of the sensei, who decided to tighten the warrior's waistline a lot.

I remind you that chapter 42 of the "Dragon Ball Super" manga, which should actually open the eighth volume of the work, has completed the Tournament of Power and started the new saga. Unreleased to the anime, it is entitled "The Prisoner of the Galactic Patrol.".

Broly movie update

There are only a few days left before the Japanese debut of "Dragon Ball Super: Broly," but meanwhile the producers continue the massive operation of the promotional campaign dedicated to the film.

In fact, various artworks derived from the Japanese merchandising of the film have sprung up on the internet.

The illustrations are extrapolated from a series of objects, gadgets and promotional spots to push the release of the film in Japanese cinemas. We have collectible cards - okus I have already reported a number of other artworks - including posters.

Finally, there is also a series of drawings depicting some characters like Goku, Vegeta, Goten and Trunks.

Recall that the film has not yet have an Italian release date, but for the moment Koch Media has set a generic winter 2019 as a launch window. The synopsis says, "41 years ago, the ruler of the planet Vegeta, had a son destined to become, in a not too distant future, the well-known Prince of the Saiyan Vegeta, an individual so proud of his latent power that he defined himself as the strongest warrior." The film will release in January in the US.
