Monday night, fans of ABC's “The Bachelor” got to watch Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s finale to see whether he chose Becca Kufrin or Lauren Burnham. Plenty of juicy spoilers had been swirling about what was supposedly going to go down, with the buzz indicating that Arie would pick Becca, but soon split with her for a shot at reuniting with Lauren. How did Monday's show play out and how did fans react?
'Bachelor' spoilers about Arie's change of heart were accurate
Much of the March 5 show revolved around the typical meeting of the family and last-chance dates.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. had already admitted he loved both Lauren Burnham and Becca Kufrin, but at the final rose ceremony, he did propose to Becca. However, not too far down the road, he met with Kufrin in Los Angeles and dumped her on camera and admitted he couldn't stop thinking about Burnham.
Becca did appear on stage with host Chris Harrison at the end of Monday's show and this has clearly been tough for her to work through. Kufrin says that at the time of the split, she couldn't even think of what to say, as she had truly been in love and ready to marry Luyendyk.
How is Becca doing now and what's Arie's status?
Kufrin says she hasn't been in touch with Arie since the day of the split and she has spent a lot of time feeling angry and betrayed.
Monday's episode cut off at that point, but Becca, Arie, and Lauren will be back for an additional “After the Final Rose” special on Tuesday night (March 6).
How did fans react to all of this drama? People were not impressed by how Arie handled the breakup with Becca, with his insistence on sticking around but with little to say.
People also were unhappy with ABC's decision to film every second of the breakup and show it in its entirety, unedited.
I think I am dine with The Bachelor! Filming pain for ratings in wrong.#TheBachelor

arie: any second now.#TheBachelor
Comedian Michelle Collins took issue with how Arie knocked on the bathroom door somewhat half-heartedly to check in on Becca.
Twitter lit up with intense reactions as this “Bachelor” breakup aired and as Luyendyk had expected, he did not get much, if any, support.
This is how you knock on a bathroom door when someone is throwing up or has diarrhea, not when you just broke off your engagement #thebachelor pic.twitter.com/gWMoujfWfL

It takes a seriously selfish human to blindside and dump someone on camera, then expect them to make you feel ok about it and follow them around when they’ve asked you to leave. @ariejr is a douche. #thebachelor

As for the reaction to Becca, she clearly has plenty of support from “Bachelor” fans across social media.
Some noted that she deserves better and is too good for Arie, while others are hoping she will become the next “Bachelorette.” In fact, the network's choice for this spring's “Bachelorette” season will be announced Tuesday night and the buzz is that it indeed is Becca.
What is Arie's status at this point? “The Bachelor” spoilers have teased that he did reunite with Lauren and that the two are together and apparently head-over-heels happily in love at this point. Fans will not want to miss the two-hour “After the Final Rose” follow-up special airing on ABC on Tuesday, March 6. What do you think of how Arie Luyendyk Jr. handled the situation regarding Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham?
Honestly, I’m happy for Becca. She deserves so much better and she’s WAY to good for him. #TheBachelor pic.twitter.com/A41gaQw7pT
