Two more hopefuls are expected to join the hit reality competition “Dancing With The Stars” for its upcoming 25th season. “Good Morning America” announced that six-time Pro Bowl at the NFL Terrell Owens is going to be part of the competition.
Owens was revealed via a huge Mirror Ball props on the set of the morning show. He will perform in “Dancing With The Stars” with his partner, dancer pro-Cheryl Burke. The female professional dancer revealed that he has never danced before, so there is a lot of work to do.
“He is all about lights, camera, action, and he is a performer, and we are going to use that to our advantage,” Burke said.
“As long as we practice hard on the studio and work hard, then he can do whatever he likes on the dance floor.”
The former NFL star added that he had a conversation with his friend Chad Johnson about how difficult it would be to compete. Johnson competed with his would-be partner during the 10th season of the show. When asked why he wanted to join the competition, he said he had a couple of options since there is nothing so much going on in his life.
“I expect nothing different. This is going to be a challenge for me, definitely. It is definitely not in my wheelhouse. I have danced as a little kid but this is nothing like what I want to expect, for sure,” the celebrity hopeful shared.
Burke’s experiences
Cheryl Burke is joining other dance pros in the 25th season of “Dancing With The Stars,” such as Emma Slater, Mark Ballas, Alan Bersten and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She has previously danced with another former NFL athlete Emmitt Smith before on the same show.
Owens hails from Alabama and has played for various NFL teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Francisco 49ers.
His official profile revealed that he ended his NFL stint with a record of 1,078 receptions, almost 16,000 yards, and 153 touchdowns.
80s pop icon
80s pop star Debbie Gibson is reportedly joining the hit reality show, sources told Entertainment Online. ABC, the network behind “Dancing With The Stars” has not commented on this speculation.
Gibson is a singer and songwriter, who is popular for her hit songs back in the decade, “Foolish Beat” and “Lost In Your Eyes.” She has also performed roles on Broadway in “Grease,” “Les Miserables,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
The full celebrity cast will officially be announced on “Good Morning America” on September 6. The reality dancing competition will return for its 25th season on September 18.
