Earlier in August, "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez shocked fans and viewers when she posted a photo of herself in a bikini on her Instagram account. While a bikini photo is nothing out of the ordinary from anyone in Hollywood nowadays, fans noticed something different about Rodriguez: she was sporting a more toned, svelte frame than she was when "Jane the Virgin" ended its third season.
The boxing enthusiast admitted that she received backlash from posting that photo, with people commenting that it was photoshopped. The actress often takes to Instagram to update her followers on her workout routine, in which she truly showed a slimmer body.
Now, fans of the 33-year old can get to know more about her diet and workout plan as she is on the cover of the October issue of Shape Magazine.

Actress didn't have enough time to work out
"Jane the Virgin" actress Gina Rodriguez admitted that with the show's grueling filming schedule, she cannot afford to hit the gym and train all the time. She shared that while on the show, she got "a little curvier" and she would feel bad about herself for looking that way. However, it was her boyfriend Joe LoCicero's advice that got her truly thinking.
According to E! News, he told Rodriguez, "Don't be angry with your body—it changed because your routine shifted." Her change of perspective was beneficial to her, especially in the entertainment industry where every minimal change in appearance becomes tabloid fodder. Rodriguez said that she now doesn't stress herself out too much for not working out all the time.
She said, "I'm not willing to wring the joy from my life to kill myself in the gym."
