“The Vampire Diaries” series creator Julie Plec has taken the helm as the new showrunner of the up and coming “The Originals” Season 5, replacing Michael Narducci who took charge of the first four seasons. Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are reportedly making a cameo appearance in the spinoff series’ fifth installment.

‘TVD’ lead stars set to reunite in ‘The Originals’ Season 5 without Somerhalder

The Inquisitr reported that the highly-anticipated Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley reunion might happen in “The Originals” Season 5 after the pair reportedly refused to unite in the imminent fourth installment.

According to the news outlet, Dobrev and Wesley snubbed the opportunity to share the screen with Ian Somerhalder, which sparked speculations that they might not be on good terms.

Julie Plec revealed in an interview with E! News that Dobrev is totally appearing in the CW series’ fifth installment. The showrunner admitted that they would like to link the mythology of “The Originals” with “The Vampire Diaries” in an ingenious manner.

According to Plec, Nina Dobrev will be taking the role of Tatia, who was the original doppelganger, in “The Originals” Season 5. For starters, Tatia is the lady that both Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies) fell in love with a long time ago.

Spoilers suggest that the up and coming fifth installment of the spinoff series will also tackle how Klaus and Elijah became vampires. Fans can expect Dobrev to appear in the fifth episode which is scheduled to be aired on November 3, 2017.

Paul Wesley, on the other hand, is said to reprise his role as Stefan Salvatore in “The Originals” Season 5.

Reports have it that the brother of Damon Salvatore will meet Hope, who is already a teenager and is studying at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted in Mystic Falls.

To recall, TV Line previously confirmed that Paul Wesley would come back in “The Originals” Season 4 along with Zac Roerig, who played as Matt Donovan in “The Vampire Diaries” series.

According to the publication, this is going to be the second time that the two well-loved male characters will appear in the spinoff series for their own personal purposes.

Are Dobrev and Wesley going out after ‘TVD’ Season 8 finale?

Meanwhile, Christian Post reported that Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are said to be dating. According to the news outlet, the former co-stars of Ian Somerhalder have been spotted sweet and cozy with each other while filming the last few episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8.

The report also mentioned that Dobrev could be the main reason behind the Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin split.
