Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus made no effort to shy away from paparazzi when they went out to grab a coffee at a New York cafe on Wednesday. In fact, the new couple have been seen together on several occasions since they first stepped out as lovers earlier this month.
Affleck and Shookus are going public with relationship
The "Argo" actor went for a casual look in a light yellow shirt, a pair of dark jeans, sneakers, and visor. The "Saturday Night Live" producer, on the other hand, wore a blue dress with a pair of white sneakers, and dark sunglasses.
The couple were photographed walking side by side while sipping their cups of coffee.
Their latest public appearance as a couple came after Affleck announced that he was dropping out of "Triple Frontier" to focus on himself and his family. The actor refused to provide any further explanation for backing out of the Netflix movie. The 44-year-old A-lister became the third actor to turn down the project after Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum left due to scheduling conflicts. Affleck's decision was made in the wake of his divorce from Jennifer Garner two years after they announced their separation.
What went wrong between Affleck and Garner?
In April, Affleck and Garner officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for ending their decade-long marriage.
The "Daredevil" duo, however, promised to maintain a good relationship to fulfill their parental duties to Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. In fact, Affleck regularly goes on family outings with Garner and their children, and they even attend church services every Sunday.
Meanwhile, the "Live By Night" star seemingly confirmed his relationship with new girlfriend, Shookus, two months after filing for divorce.
The actor and "SNL" producer were seen enjoying a late night dinner date earlier this month. It was also reported that Shookus stayed at Affleck's house the night before she was spotted at the airport.
A source close to Garner told US Magazine that the actress is "okay" with Affleck's newfound love in Shookus. "Jen knew about the new relationship and still chose to go on vacation with Ben for the 4th of July."
After making their relationship public, Affleck and Shookus were mired in cheating rumors after multiple sources claimed that the couple had been dating even before they separated from their respective spouses. The insider, however, clarified that the couple are still in the early stages of their relationship.
