“The Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2” broke the seal on the summer movie season a few days ago and received excellent comments from film critics. Marvel Studios’ latest effort grossed over $500 million at the global box office in just one week. Scores for the movie will be in and out theaters soon, proving that remakes are much in trend these days.

Hollywood filmmakers have started developing reboots and remakes as the audiences love them a lot. At least three remakes are in the works and will be released in coming months, including “The Black Hole,” “Blade,” and “Aladdin.”

‘Aladdin.'

Guy Ritchie directs the live-action remake of Disney classic, “Aladdin.” There are rumors that either Jason Statham or Johnny Depp will play the role of Genie, but the director has not confirmed anything.

“Aladdin” is a 1992 animated movie produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and directed by John Musker, based on an Arabian novel of the same name by Ron Clements.

The film features voices of Jonathan Freeman, Robin Williams, Scott Weinger, Douglas Seale, Linda Larkin, Gilbert Gottfried, and Frank Welker. It grossed over $214 million in revenue in the United States and more than $500 million worldwide.

‘The Black Hole’

The famous director, Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, TRON: Legacy), is set to develop a remake of “The Black Hole.” “Prometheus” writer Jon Spaihts is hired to write the story and dialogues. “The Black Hole” is a science fiction movie directed by Gary Nelson and financed by Walt Disney Productions.

The cast includes Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster, Ernest Borgnine, Yvette Mimieux, and Maximilian Schell. The voices of the main robot characters are provided by Slim Pickens and Roddy McDowall, while John Barry composes the music.

The film grossed over $300 million against a production and advertising budget of $26 million.

It received mixed reviews from film critics.

‘Blade.'

Wesley Snipes said in a statement to Mashable that he had negotiated a new film with Marvel Studios in April 2017. The remake of “Blade” will swing into theaters in 2020. “Blade” is a superhero movie based on the MCU character of the same name.

It is directed and produced by Stephen Norrington and written by David S.

Goyer. Released in 1998, the film received positive comments from critics and audience. It grossed over $71 million in the United States and $131 million worldwide. Even a sequel, “Blade Runner 2049,” is scheduled for October 6, 2017.
