Netflix may not be worried about its competitors, but Amazon is building upon its output with potential hitters arriving next month.

The studio has one Television Series, “The Americans,” and two films, “Long Strange Trip,” and “Animal Kingdom,” on its radar. In recent years, Amazon Studios has developed new television shows and started distributing original content through the official site. It is one of the biggest streaming websites to date, with content being distributed through its digital video streaming service.

‘The Americans’

The first three seasons of “The Americans” are already on Amazon, while the fourth season will be available next week.

It is an acclaimed television drama produced and created by Joe Weisberg. The series originally premiered on January 30, 2013, on the leading cable network FX. The story revolves around a Soviet officer, Elizabeth (Keri Russell), and her love interest, Philip (Matthew Rhys).

The two travel to Washington, D.C., along with Philip’s children Henry (Keidrich Sellati) and Paige (Holly Taylor). Noah Emmerich played an FBI agent, Stan, in this television series. The first season of the show received positive comments from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a score of 7.5 out of 10 based on 46 reviews.

Its second season received an average rating of 8 out of 10 on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 54 reviews.

‘Long Strange Trip’

Long Strange Trip” is a famous documentary film about the rock band, Grateful Dead. It was screened for an award at 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The film will be released on Amazon, on May 26, 2017. It is directed by Amir Bar-Lev, with Martin Scorsese serving as the executive producer.

Owen Gleiberman from Variety has called it a “film with excellent visuals and beautiful story.” Jordan Hoffman from Vanity Fair has stated that “its first half is typical, but presented in an impressive way.”

‘Animal Kingdom’ – the film

Released in 2010, “Animal Kingdom” is a crime film directed and written by David Michôd, and features Ben Mendelsohn, Jacki Weaver, Joel Edgerton, James Frecheville, Ben Mendelsohn, Luke Ford, Sullivan Stapleton, and Guy Pearce.

The story is inspired by a novel of the same name by Victor Peirce.

The film was critically acclaimed. It received more than 35 awards and 41 nominations, with Jacki Weaver receiving an Academy Award for her excellent performance. “Animal Kingdom” was shot in Melbourne and London. The outside funeral scenes were filmed in Ivanhoe East, Victoria. Antony Partos originally composed the score, with David McCormack and Sam Petty serving as his assistants. The movie grossed over $600 million at the box office.
