Famed pop star Janet Jackson is splitting from her millionaire husband Wissam Al Mana. The surprising News comes just three months after the singer gave birth to the couple’s first child in January. Reportedly, their son Eissa will be living with his mother Janet, who is now based in London. While some sources claim the separation is amicable, another states the “Control” singer felt her husband was too controlling during her pregnancy.
The 50-year-old Gary, Indiana native was previously married to singer James DeBarge and Mexican back-up dancer Rene Elizondo, Jr.
All three marriages were done secretly or at least very privately. Al Mana and Jackson lived a notoriously private life and were rarely seen in public until late last year when the pair were spotted strolling about in London, stopping for lunch and baby store shopping. Three weeks after giving birth, Jackson was seen again out shopping in London for her son. Noting how motherhood seemed to agree with her, one onlooker told People magazine that Jackson looked great, really relaxed and healthy. The onlooker added that Jackson looked at some baby socks and other knickknacks.
Who knew trouble was brewing in paradise and so soon after such a joyous occasion?
It has also been reported that the couple were spending as much time as possible with their infant son and did not receive many visitors.
Katherine Jackson, who is going through family problems of her own, recently visited her daughter and new grandson. Janet Jackson is said to have hired help at home and only a select few have seen Eissa. Like most mothers, Jackson is said to be totally in love with her baby and is excited about being a mom. Jackson and Qatari businessman Al Mana wed in 2012 and is said to have donated their wedding gifts to the favorite children’s charities.
Love and marriage followed by divorce and baby carriage
An alleged friend of Janet Jackson’s told The Mail on Sunday that the busy couple mutually decided things were not working out but are committed to being good parents. There were unproven rumors that the two had split days after Eissa was born. A divorce settlement could be very complex given that the 42-year-old Al Mana’s net worth is estimated to be at least four times higher than that of Jackson’s. In the meantime, fans will have to wait and see if the "Rhythm Nation" singer will resume her career or even return to the U.S. to live.
