Summer is here, and Netflix has announced its lineup of movies. This May, it will bring a bunch of original TV shows and Hollywood blockbusters. “Fantastic Four,” “Jurassic Park Iii,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” will top the lineup. Dozens of TV shows are in the spotlight, including “House of Cards,” “Sense8,” “Master of None,” “Bloodline,” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

‘Fantastic Four’

Fantastic Four” is an American blockbuster. This superhero movie is based on the Marvel Comics hero of the same name. It is the third theatrical "Fantastic Four" film to be distributed by 20th Century Fox, and a reboot of the “Fantastic Four” film franchise.

“Fantastic Four” will be at the top of the list on Netflix. The project is directed by Josh Trank and scripted by Jeremy Slater. The cast includes Toby Kebbell, Miles Teller, Kater Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael Jordan. For its development, Fox hired Trank but he refused the offer saying that he's busy. The film was a major critical and commercial success and grossed over $300 million worldwide, against a production budget of $80 million.

‘Jurassic Park III’

Netflix has included “Jurassic Park III” in the May lineup due to its impressive story. This science fiction film was released in 2001 and featured Trevor Morgan, Michael Jeter, Tea Leoni, William Macy, Sam Neill, and Alessandro Nivola. The movie is directed by Steven Spielberg, based on a book of the same name by Michael Crichton.

After the success of Spielberg's first film “Jurassic Park,” Joe Johnston showed interest in developing a sequel. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film grossed over $360 million worldwide.

‘Beauty and the Beast’

Beauty and the Beast” is inspired by a novel by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve. The story is about a widowed merchant who lives in a mansion with his three sons and three daughters.

His most beautiful daughter, Beauty, is being treated as a servant by the siblings. Some years later, the merchant hears a trade ship has arrived back in port. Meanwhile, a beast kidnaps his daughter, Beauty, and forces her to live in his palace. Emma Watson played the leading role, and her fans admired her performance. The tale has been adapted for the small screen, and stage.

For documentary lovers, Netflix has “The Mars Generation,” “Get Me Roger Stone” and “The Keepers” in store. And for non-Netflix content, May is likely to be a slow month. Still, we will get a few heavy-hitters such as “Doctor Strange” and “Southpaw.”
