The second "Star Wars" spinoff movie following "Rouge One" will focus on a young Han Solo. The casting has already been announced and the film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller ("The LEGO Movie"). Now, thanks to an interview with Disney CEO Bob Iger, a lot of information about the upcoming "Star Wars" movie has been revealed.

The cast and filmmakers for the Han Solo film

The cast and crew lined up for this Han Solo "Star Wars" movie is impressive. First of all, the directors are Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the men who created great movies out of properties like "21 Jump Street" and "The LEGO Movie." One has to wonder how their past movies will work with a character like Han.

He has always worked with an arrogance and swagger and there is a good chance that Lord and Miller can really work well with that. Joining them is Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, someone who was labeled a young Harrison Ford when he appeared in the Coen Brothers film "Hail, Caesar." Also in the movie are Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian, Joona Suotamo reprising his role from "Force Awakens" as Chewbacca, and Woody Harrelson as a mentor-type character. Also signed on are Thandie Newton, Michael K. Williams, Emilia Clarke, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The story details from the Han Solo "Star Wars" film

In his presentation at USC, Bob Iger said that the new "Star Wars" movie will follow the life of Han Solo over a six-year period, from the age of 18 to 24.

The film will also deal with how Han was able to take possession of the Millennium Falcon as well as how he met and befriended the giant Wookie Chewbacca. This is impressive because it is almost impossible to get information about upcoming "Star Wars" movies in any form. When cast members are asked questions about the movies, they often seem hesitant because of the non-disclosures everyone is asked to sign. Of course, as the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger has few people to fear if he wants to talk about what fans can expect from the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie.
