Five Great American Civil War Films

The Civil War was one of the bloodiest wars America has fought. In order to pay respects and to remind people of what they fought for, films were created focusing on the war. Several films have come out of Hollywood, deserving of award honors whether it be cinematography, acting, music. The American Civil War does not amount to the number of films that came out of World War II. The Civil War did create plenty of gems. some have been underappreciated. Some like Gettysburg have become major epics.
