The Emmy Award-Winning "RuPaul's Drag Race" is back for Season 10! The premiere comes to us just one week after the controversial finale of "RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars 3." Some believe that the speedy release of season 10 was due to the lackluster ending of AS3. Many think the show began to fizzle out after Ben Dela Creme's untimely exit from the show. This new batch of girls was a way to redirect the attention to something new. This season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" features a completely revamped workroom, as well as a newly designed stage. These updates breath fresh life into a series that is going into its tenth year.

Who are the queens to watch out for?

Regardless of the reason for the speedy release -- the premiere of season 10 was everything we could have hoped for. What a talented group of queens we have this year! Some noteworthy members of the cast are Eureka O'Hara who returns to the workroom following a serious knee injury in season 9. Aquaria is a queen with one of the largest social media presences in the group. She is also Sharon Needles' drag daughter.

So it's clear that Aquaria has got quite a reputation, so, now it's time for her to put her money where her mouth is. Let's see if she's up to the challenge! There are also plenty of other drag daughters (and mothers) this season in addition to Aquaria.

Miz Cracker is the quirky, retrofuturistic drag daughter of season eight winner, Bob the Drag Queen. Vanessa Vanjie Mateo is the outspoken, feisty daughter of Alexis Mateo (BAM!).

Asia O'Hara the polished, Texan beauty is the drag mother of the infamous Phi Phi O'Hara from Season four. Will the queens with strong drag family bonds outperform their sisters?

Only time will tell. Either way the sheer star power evident in this cast is undeniable - this season is sure to one one of the best yet!

Which Challenges Were This Week?

Mini-challenges have returned to RPDR, thank GOD! This week was one of the largest scale mini challenges yet. Countless queens from previous seasons gathered around a runway to taunt and intimidate each of the new contestants as they strut their stuff on the runway.

This challenge is a G-Rated version of a similar challenge on Season 1 of "Dragula: The Search for America's Next Drag Supermonster", where queens yelled and threw rotten food at their performing sisters.

Notable appearances are made by Trixie Mattel (the winner of RPDR AS3), Jinx Monsoon (the winner of season five) and Bob the Drag Queen (the winner of season eight). In the end is was Monet X Change who snatched up the first mini-challenge win of the season.

The runway theme this week went back to its season one roots -- the first theme of the first episode of the series: Drag on a Dime! This challenge forced the queens to construct an outfit out of items from the 99 cent store. They were allowed to use their own heels, wigs, makeup, and undergarments - but everything else had to be made from bargain bin items.

Most of the results were surprisingly high fashion considering the cheap and gaudy nature of the materials that the queens used. Before the judging begins, Christina Aguilera makes a surprise entrance (initially introduced as her drag queen doppelganger Farrah Moan). After the judging, it is Mayhem Miller who wins the challenge, cementing herself as a clear front-runner.

Unfortunately, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Kalorie Karbdashian Williams find themselves in the bottom two. They lipsync to Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man." Kalorie comes out on top, which means Vanessa is the first queen to be eliminated from season 10. It's an emotional farewell, as she fears she's let the people at home down.

However, as we've seen countless times over the years - it may not be the last we've seen of her. Hopefully, we get to see more of what Vanessa Vanjie Mateo has to offer.
