Donald Trump, winner of the 2016 Presidential Election, will be inaugurated on Friday, January 20, 2017. However, there is a new piece of information that we know. Trump will enter his presidency with the lowest approval rating in American history. CNN has his approval rating at 40% while NBC says it is at 44%. Less than a 50% approval rating, and he has not even be sworn into office.
President Obama entered office with an approval rating of 67% eight years ago when he initially took office. President Bush was at 57% when he took office sixteen years ago.
How long did it take other presidents to hit lower than a 45% approval rating?
President Obama hit a low point of a 44% approval rate eighteen months after taking office. Four and half years into Bush's term was when he fell that low. Trump has them both beat, without even being sworn in yet.
Why are Trump's approval ratings so low?
President-Elect Trump has indeed said some things, and done some things, that many people disagree with or are disgusted at. From Meryl Streep in her Golden Globe acceptance speech to everyday American's find themselves upset with Mr. Trump for various reasons.
One of the big issues are Trump's comments about women. Many feel as though women have been deemed property; as if they had no free will.
Who could forget his "grab them by the p***y" comment before the election?
The second largest issue with President-Elect Trump is the way he mocked Serge Kovaleski, a disabled reporter. Meryl Streep brought extra attention to the incident Sunday night with her Golden Globe acceptance speech. Streep called it the "most heart-wrenching performance" of 2016.
What does this mean for America?
While President-Elect Trump has taken to mending a few bridges, he has also taken to leading simply with brute force. Trump tends to take to Twitter to communicate his feelings, which are usually disgust, with whatever person has made him upset that day.
No wonder the Today Show on biased @NBC is doing so badly compared to its glorious past. Little credibility!

As America enters into a new presidential term, and Mr.
Trump prepares for inauguration Friday, we have a lot to think about as a nation. Our incoming president has the lowest approval rating going into office, yet overwhelmingly won the electoral college vote. What does that say about America? What does that say about the man we elected? However, the question that many want an answer to is what does this say about our electoral college?
